It depends on the questions and whether or not it needs a answer from God or our own reasoning. Somethings are spiritually discerned while others are easy to be understood. I think the reason many have stop having faith in the bible can go on and on. One thing we shoul do is treat the bible like a crystal ball with no intent to sek the author. Other than that God has given enough to give us Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth because He Only Loves You. I am truly greatfull for such scholars that lead the reformation and helped to give us tranlations in our own languages. Although we should be careful as how we choose these versions that take form the true meaning of the scriptures .

The bible does answer all questions that are actually impossible to find out otherwise. For example, What is the purpose for us here on Earth? Why does God permit all the suffering?(Notice I said permit not cause) etc. You know what's interesting? It's even accurate when it comes to Science. The Bible clearly states that the world is the shape of a sphere(or round) and it's hanging over nothing. (I forgot the scriptures but I'll find them if you want me to, just email me) I mean think about it the Bible was completed more than a thousand years before Chris. Columbus and way before the man sent anything into space, and yet the Bible as 'old as it is' it's still accurate in our times.
To finish my long essay(LOL). I'd just like to add that the Bible is not only a great guide for mankind but it's like a letter from God himself to us humans who are nothing compared to other creatures and parts of his creations, and yet some insist in believing in 'science'(the big bang theory) instead of the bible, which by the way has proved a lot more of it's prophecies than the 'science book' has with it's theories. That's just sad!!!

I know that the Bible is not outdated. While certain things, (there is a verse that says it is best to stay unmarried while awaiting Jesus' coming) are outdated, and were *for that time only* the majority of the Bible fits all time periods.
That said, it's teachings on sex (it specifically says not to molest youngsters) are not outdated either.
The things in the Bible that said *for this time only* were, well, for that time only. As, now we don't have a tabernacle and a holy of holies, while then we did. (OT)
The teachings on how to treat other people (NOTE: not the punishments for sin as that was taken care of) such as don't steal or don't bear false witness are still good today, even though they are not followed stircktly by most.
The Bible also says to be sly as a fox and harmless as a dove, so it wants us to be smart, and it says to take care of our families, do well in business, that sort of thing.
The teachings regarding excesses aren't out of date,
The Bible says "Thou shalt have no other gods before me"
and in several other places it notes that we are not to let anything me our master,
this means that if we let alcohol or cigarets or drugs or porn or any other thing (even things that aren't bad) take over our lives and rule us, then we are going against God.
I don't think that is out of date - there are so many alcoholics, and the Bible clearly states that we should not become alcoholics, if it were now, good, to be an alcoholic, then the Bible would be out of date on this issue, it is not.
The Bible also says to take care of our bodies and to protect them because they are his creation, I don't think that is out of date.
Those are just a few of the many ways the Bible is NOT out-of-date.

yes its truths are timeless and it is relevant today - all of it but especially God moral teaching which are at odds with the culture today. The book of Proverbs offers real and beneficial counsel - and if read by everyone would put the mental health people out of business! All of Jesus' teachings are relevant today too. That is the challenge of today's church is to show that the Bible is still relevant in today's culture. There are no new issues - homosexuality was an issue 5,000 years ago and remains so today. Abortion too was an issue in ancient times, as was divorce. There are no new issues. "There is nothing new under the sun" from the book of Ecclesiastes. Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."1 Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them" 1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God." Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper." Homosexuality is clearly condemned by the Bible. It goes against the created order of God. He created Adam and then made a woman. This is what God has ordained and it is what is right. Unlike other sins, homosexuality has a severe judgment administered by God Himself. This judgment is simple: They are given over to their passions. That means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins (Romans 1:18ff). As a result, they can no longer see the error of what they are doing. Without an awareness of their sinfulness, there will be no repentance and trusting in Jesus. Without Jesus, they will have no forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is no salvation. What should be the Christian's Response to the Homosexual?

All the "Laws" of every country in the world are rooted in the teachings of the Bible. Christian, atheistic, monotheistic countries all promote Gods Law in some way or another because without it there would be chaos, anarchy and survival of the fittest. The practical advice of yesterday is for today and tomorrow by giving humanity morals and principles.

The bible answers all questions "Solomon says their is nothing new under the sun" The bible is as relevant today as it was in the past. We however MUST be careful of what we put our faith in, what we allow to be authoritative in our life, what we allow to become "a new bible" for us. We individually stand before God responsible as fee moral agents for the spiritual food we swallowed. Just as he gave us nose to smell bad food, he has given us a spirit to bear witness of the spirit in each child of God. He has quickened us made us alive so we should smell spiritual food to see if it is good or bad.
Peace

The Holy Bible is the only answer, yesterday, today and tomorrow for the vanity of mankind. Wisdom is Truth and God's Word is the only truth available to remedy our sinful human nature. Praise the Lord! What a joy to know the truth and be set free from the deception and cunning lies of satan the devil. Jesus say's we shall know the truth and the truth shall set us free! Jesus Christ is the Truth, The light and Eternal Life to those who trust and believe in Him.

Absolutely!
But don't forget it is only through Jesus, dieing on the cross and redeeming us, conquering death which makes it all possible.
Remember, it is not by WORKS but the BLOOD of Jesus Christ, that we are saved. He speaks to God the Father for us, and HE puts our names in the book of LIFE.
When you read your Bible, remember there was a New Covenant created with the birth and death of Jesus; that is why the Son of God - God incarnate, sacrificed himself. His blood is the only way, the only redemption for a lost world of man.
