That is the question. I hope that you all understand how
important the word respect is. And some of us do not
respect other people's cultures. No how stupid is that.
As if any 1 culture is superior to another. If that were
the case, then why all the diversity. But anyway, when
are more Muslims gonna just see Jews as just people.
And vice versa. As long as one group go their own way.....
Then there should be no problems at all. Despite the
history between the 2. Unity is more powerful than
seperation. The diviness of the universe demands it.
Then can we all have balance in our lives, rather than
this illogical anger. The extremist should be denounced
by the non extremist. For evil to conquer, is when
good men do nothing. So we should all respect other
peoples religions and lifestyle. Do Muslims respect
the Jews ? Best answer wins. *

I respect anyone on the surface. I love for the sake of Allah (SWT) because we all were created from the same Lord.

The Jewish people I see just go about their business, same with Muslims.

I work with 4 doctors who are Jewish, and one of them I play chess. Nobody there gives a rip about religious leanings; We just want to know if everybody is competent enough to have the unit running well.

salaam to erryone.. what christians and jews need to be aware of is that us muslims believe that if christians and jews follow the teachings of their Prophets Musa (Moses) and Isa (Jesus) (may peace be upon all of them), they will also enter Jannah (Paradise) inshaAllah (if God Wills). we have the utmost respect for the Prophets (may peace be upon all of them) that came before the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and we believe that this Prophet (pbuh) is the Seal of the Prophets (i.e. the last Prophet to come). no where in the Christian scriptures does it say that Jesus claimed he was God. logically speaking, how can one entity be a God, the Holy Spirit AND the Father of God? in order for an entity to be a God, that entity has to be perfect, untouchable, infallible and above humans and all the creatures of this world/universe. That entity must be All knowing, Merciful, Beneficient and Omnipotent. How can that God have faults? That God must be Perfect in every sense of the word, there must be no deficiencies in that God. Think of this analogy: you have a car. it has various components. who made it? who designed it? the designer?the engineer?the manufacturer?the creator?just think over an answer to this analogy. we will come back to it in due time inshaAllah (If God Wills). The Holy Qur'an contains facts (scientific) that have been proven now. It contains corroborated facts about the mountains, the sea, the universe, embryology, the nervous system, history, blood, cells, and much more besides. the Quran was revealed 1400 years ago, yet the scientists have only recently discovered these facts. How do you suppose an illiterate man attained these truths? remember that analogy that i gave you before? about that car? well us muslims call that creator/designer/manufacturer/designer (or whatever synonym you want to use) the Almighty, ALLAH. so next time anyone wants to debase or vilify Muslims, please do us the courtesy of reading up on the true Islam from authenticated sources and not what is portrayed in the MEDIA by people who know little about Islam, yet become scholars in it overnight! just a final question. when hitler was massacring thousands of jews...did the world blame CHRISTIANITY? when mussolini killed all those people, did we blame CATHOLICISM? if a person is driving a car, which runs completely perfectly, and the driver cant drive it and crashes it, would we blame the CAR? or the driver? so when a misguided person within the religion of Islam commits a crime, why is ISLAM on the line? just remember, there are 'black sheep' in all communities. Islam is a perfected religion, there is no fault in its regimes. The Holy Qur'an and the ways of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) are an inspiration and a truth to all of mankind.

The answer is, GENERALLY SPEAKING, no!

Look at the official position most muslim countries have towards Israel.

Look at the way jews were treated all over the middle east.

Unfortunately there is a chauvanism and arrogance towards the KUFFAR, or non believer in all muslim countries, not all muslims are like this, but many are.

If you examine the way all religious minorities have been treated in muslim countries over the last 1400 years you'll see what i mean. And in Arab countries, there is an agressive attitude to all non arabs, regardless of religion, look at the treatment of Assyrians, Armenians, Turcomen, Kurds, Yazidis, Shabaks, Mandeans, Chaldeans, Berbers, Darfurese,Copts, Syriacs, Maronites, South Sudanese and Western Saharans. All these are non arab peoples in Arab dominated countries, they are persecuted and they dont even HAVE their own countries, so you can imagine the way Arabs and Muslims think of the Jews!

No two people are the same, and respect has many different forms. What if a Muslim only respects one Jew? What if a Muslim only disrespects one Jew?

There are a lot of different factors to deal with. Some Muslims hold great respect for Jews, as the founders of the religion which started it all. Others find the Zionist movement (which isn't identical to Judaism, but which some people, unfortunately, consider interchangeable with it) a little bit offputting.

It really depends on the individual.

Judaism and Islam are the nearest religion
Muslims and Jews believe in one god and his prophets
but Muslims believe in the Christ and the prophet Mohamed and Jews do not believe in them
the wars between Muslims and Jews are for land not for religion

the question must be
do Jews respect Muslims?

I actually highly respect Jews I work in a Mall and there are a lot of Jews that come here from Israel and a lot of them I have became great friends with, one of my best friends is actually a rabbi, we just put our differences aside and accept each other for who we are.

sometimes we get in the religious discussion but only to edcuate each other not to down each others religion this is forbidden in both religions.

For my Ramadan they bought me chocolate and I returned the favor when it came to there hanukah yea I do respect them alot...

As a rule Muslims do not respect Jews often referring to them as mentally deficient, sub-humans or apes.

I take exception to your assertion that no one culture is superior to any other. That is demonstrably untrue. The reason there is diversity is because not every culture permits its people to choose freely how theirs should be. The fact that some runners win does not eliminate the rest of the field. There can only be one that is best. If you try to compare cultures where they practice forced female circumcision for instance, to any western culture you will see what I mean.

The American culture is the most accepting of diversity, tolerant and respectful of religious beliefs, provides the most opportunity for success, has no aristocracy, allows the most liberty and equality.

There are not a lot of countries in the world that can make those claims. The reason America is superior is because it had a distinct advantage right from the start. You see, other countries in the world at that time just sort of evolved from one revolution to the next. America was actually the first country that was was deliberately founded and clearly defined. Few countries even have constitutions.

Our founders had plenty of other countries history to learn from. Our country, as a result, was born light years ahead of any other on earth in some pretty key areas. Since then other countries have adopted many of our methods.

Make no mistake. America is the origin of liberty in the world. Other cultures will eventually catch up or perish.

There is plenty of hypocrisy around the whole middle east.

Isreali army is an 'army' becuase it has a uniform, PAelstinians are just 'terrorists'. Palestinians have no money and resort to suicide bombings which kill civilians, where are Isreal also kills thousands of civilians and that is deemed acceptable.

Isreal has nuclear weapons, Iran is not allowed them.

I am not sure who is right and who is wrong anymore, but there is a very uneven playing field and the more desperate a situation a person is put in, the more desperate actions they will take.

EDIT: Jacob - America is the origin of liberty, and will bomb everybody until they agree. They stand for freedom, including those held withuot trial in Guantanemo becuase they are 'obviously' guilty and shouldn't get a fair trial.

Jews are our religious cousins. There are 'believers' among them, as the Holy Quran states.

And O my people, give full measure and full weight with equity and defraud not people of their things and commit not iniquity in the land, causing disorder;

Surely, those who believe and the Jews and the Christians and the Sabians - whichever party from among these truly believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good deeds, shall have their reward with their Lord, and no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve.

Surely, We sent down the Torah wherein was guidance and light. By it did the Prophets, who were obedient to US, judge for the Jews, as did the godly people and those learned in the Law, because they were required to preserve the Book of Allah, and because they were guardians over it. Therefore fear not men but fear ME; and barter not My signs for a paltry price. And whoso judges not by that which Allah has sent down, these it is who are the disbelievers.
