I've been having this wierd pain in my left shoulderblade for a couple of weeks. It feels like something is pricking me and i've been getting like tingly feelings.I don't get pain anywhere else though. I thought this might be a trapped nerve, but I have no idea what it could be. It doesn't constantly hurt me, just randomly comes on. I don't want to go to the doctor! Could anyone tell me what it could be and how to get rid of it?

I'm starting to think it might be exzema (Don't know spelling sorry) I do suffer from it. Never had it on my back before, but pretty much everywhere else. It does itch when i irritate it. Thanks for answers so far.

A trapped nerve will usually pop out after a couple of hours, although you can be left with some bruising which would feel the way you describe. If it's happened once, the chances of it happening again will be increased, but not usually so quickly or frequently. The way to tell is to turn your head both ways when the pain is bad - if you can turn one way much further than the other, it's a good chance it's a trapped nerve.

There are two things that can help with this particular nerve - my Dad's method is to have someone pick up by putting there hand under the back of your head, which lifts the skeleton back into position and out pops the nerve. Never tried this, not sure how good an idea it is, but his doctor did it to him so it can't be too bad, if oudated. The other thing is to see which way your head won't turn and unfurl the outside of that ear. Ie, if you can't look over your right shoulder, unfurl your right ear. It's kinesiology and used to relieve tension in the neck, so should help with a trapped nerve.

You should check this Sciatica Natural Treatment
http://cure-sciatica.info

Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica. Try a reputable chiropractor ASAP!

Sounds like you've pulled a muscle maybe. You described the exact pain I had after painting my ceiling. Doc said all that stretching pulled a muscle. I had pain killers for 3 weeks.

Go to a physio and have him /her have a look at it,I think if it was a trapped nerve you would have constant pain ,it may be rhumatism depending on your age it is too dificult for us too say , maybe an xtray might sort it out .
