A large, fancy, wide screen TV was moved from a house that had DirectTV, to a house with cable TV. Most channels are fine, however, some channels do not have sound.

I have tried "adding" the channels, changing menu settings, etc., but nothing works.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thank you very much for the answers! To add more info, the cable works perfectly on all other TVs in the house, and on the TV previously connected to this cable port.

The cable is connected directly to the TV, no cable box.

Check your SAP function probably under the AUDIO menu If your TV is set to SAP it could cause that problem.

Some channels use Spanish as Second Audio Program, some just repeat the normal audio, and some have no audio on SAP

If you can't find it in the menu check your owner's manual.

Also check your menu or a switch on the back of the TV for cable settings STD, IRC, HRC most cable TV is STD for standard.

If your cable box has an SAP function check that also, your cable company can tell you how.

Using cable TV with a cable box on this set? Unplug or reboot the box (usually by holding in the power switch on the box itself). When you reconnect the power to the box or when the reboot finishes wait for the clock to set itself to the right time then turn on the box. Wait for the firmware to load on the box (progress bar shows done and then first channel appears). Then try the channels again.

Channels without sound on a TV without a cable box? Try another TV and make sure it is not just a cable company problem. Otherwise the TV has problems which needs to be repaired.

Call the cable company and have them reset your service...
