When I pray to the mother goddess its an invocation or a thanks to her. It's much like talking to God (as a christian) except for me when I tried to talk to God (when i was considered a christian) I didn't feel anything, when I invoke the mother goddess I feel her love, presence, light and energy all around me.

Yup I pray to Ancestors all the time. I did an offering to the Disir a few days (And boy did they come through LOL. Simpley cut an apple in half, lit a candle to purify the space and asked for thier help. I do offering to wights for protection of the land and hearth. Nothing major. I blot to the gods on holy occasions with my kindred. That's a form of prayer I suppose but it's more of an honor thing. Sumbel is too. I chat with the gods. I rarely ask for thier "help". You are never sure just how they are going to "help" so it's better not to. They have an odd sense of humor lol.
When I connect to the Holy Ones ad the Ancestors it feels like..hmm it just feels right. It feels real. I know I am right where I am supposed to be and my blood lines are happy that I am. I enjoy everything about my religion and about my gods. Everyone of the gods have thier own texture and impression. You can't mistake one for the other that's for damn sure.
edit: LOL saint. I would think Freyja would be a better choice :P

"Do you pray, or engage in an activity similar to prayer?"
Yes.
"When you connect to your deities, what does that feel like?"
No English words, sorry.

The way of prayer is much older than christianity. To work spells is in itself a form of prayer but useing material items in the process. If you have been in a catholic church, much of what they do has been taken from paganism and altered to suit their own requirements.
Prayer can be very spiriually rewarding....and feels good.

Er by theistic you mean... okay there are too many words out there describing us I can't even keep them straight.
Generally I make offerings, but to be honest it's kinda like calling the president to me. I only call them if its a serious issue. Otherwise, I prefer to call to my more recent ancestors... y'know, the ones that didn't sell out who still care. Or wights, the land spirits. They handle the day to day issues .
How does it feel? I dunno, its just what I do. I don't think very hard about it. Kinda like calling a friend when you're frustrated. They ease the burden, make you feel better but its not an orgasmic spiritual experience. You have to talk to Odin for that.

Yes, I "pray" by traditional standards as well as cast spells. I have been taught that a spell is simply a prayer with tools.

No. While I believe all gods exist as long as someone believes in them, I don't worship any. I merely acknowledge their existence. I have felt the presence of something larger, more powerful at times, but still no worship.
