I am taking Clinamycin for a tooth abcess.

While I respect the opinions already offered, especially by another dentist, it should be noted that as soon as there is a sufficient blood level of clindamycin it begins to kill bacteria. Given orally, clindamycin reaches peak serum levels within 60 minutes. You may not feel/see any results for a while, but the medicine is working almost immediately.

if taken properly the antibotic should go into affect by 24 hrs no sooner than that but it can take up to 48 hrs. If the infection doesnt get any better by the beginning of the 3rd day i would go back to your doctor (who prescribed it to you) and see if there is another antibotic you can try, Not all meds work with everybody. GOOD LUCK

You should START to see(feel) results in 24-48 hours, but that is just to start seeing results. You should finish the entire prescription although you will probably feel as though you don't need it towards the end.

USUALLY 2-3 DAYS FOR ANY ANTIBIOTIC TO START TO WORK. CLINDAMYCIN IS AN EXCELLENT ONE.

I have always heard that it takes 72 hours to go through your system......keep taking them, and finish the prescription.
