There is one simple solution. You don't even have to deport the illegals - they will leave.
SEVERELY PUNISH THOSE WHO HIRE THEM. Massive files, loss of business licenses, and serious prison time for people who hire illegal immigrants. That's all you need to do.
Businesses profit from cheap labor and tax evasion, the taxpayers get stuck with the social, health, and education costs. Not fair.

If we punished those that hired illegals there wouldn't be the problem we have now. If they have no job most of the illegals would self deport. Punish those that choose to rent to 20 illegals living in a 3 bedroom house. Maybe by taking there home from them they will wise up.
Then we could focus on deporting the ones who choose to stay with out a real job. Drug dealers etc.
The Majority of illegals are not criminals that would go and rob people they are hard working and the only crime they may ever commit is coming here illegally and breaking our immigration laws so to say that they would stay and rob is ridiculous
Hey Monk:
We have misdemeanor criminals sitting in jail that could be picking the strawberry's for nearly nothing. If you think that the vast majority of illegals in California are picking crops you must not live here

It is easy to round up illegals in a dictatorial state, confiscate property of those who harbor the invaders, and allow citizens to discriminate against foreigners from S. America. It would take care of the question at hand. But, what do you think something like that would do to the rest of the country? It wouldn't be fun. The professional politicians are the problem, not even the illegals. It is the professional politicians who have made life difficult for American Citizens by increasing the amount of documents and identification records those of us who were born here need to have to just prove who we are even if we are almost 100 years old. The answer really doesn't reside with what to do with the illegals, the answer is to get rid of professional politicians and the lawyers who have made living in America a nightmare. And dare you not say anything rude, crude, or derogatory about anyone. Grow up, b/c the day the U.S. falls you will be in for a rude awakening for your money will mean nothing to the future invaders who will kill not just you but your whole lineage.

Here is the deal. We messed up in the first place by letting all of them in. Now we have an epidemic that we can't control. Who is to blame????US. Thats who. I think we all need to make an effort to get them all the hell out of here in any way we can. no matter the cost. Once that is done, we have new laws in place that totally forbids them ever entering our country. We tried it, it didn't work, learn from it, and move on. And don't make the same stupid mistake agan.
I don't have much faith in the government that they will take care of the problem, but if we keep bitching about it and shunning the mexicans that are over here illegally, then maybe a difference can be made. one other thing we need to stop doing is giving them all of our hard earned damn money. they totally spit in our face when we hand it over to them.
when will we learn?

This whole problem has been caused by corporate greed & the desire for ever cheaper labor to increase profits to investors. For the last 30 years we have been subjected to outright lies about labor shortages in the US... when they mean a shortage of people that will work for less than a living wage. The solution is to reduce the profitability of hiring illegal aliens by jailing those responsible.
In addition to illegal hiring, we must decrease the number of H1B visas issued to corporations. All research on the H1B hiring indicates corporations are simply importing cheaper labor to replace Science & Engineering graduates here in the US. The truth is that 1/2 the US graduates in science & engineering fields (both grad & undergrad degrees) cannot find a job in their field. The contract companies from India are the biggest offender here. It is time to put a clamp on abuse of Americans by multi national corporations.
If Americans with science & engineering degrees cannot find a job after investing the time & money to get a degree in those fields, we will continue to produce fewer graduates in those fields each year.

Either he doesn't know the population of Los Angeles, doesn't know the population of Canada, or both. Most likely both!!
If he thinks the population of L.A. is equal to Canada's, what does he think the population of California is?? Or the U.S.??
LMAO!!
Hey Atom. If you can't find the statistics on your own, let me know, I can give you some. You are out to lunch on your figures!!!!
The population of downtown L.A. is less than 1/10th the population of Canada, and the population of California is a few million more than the population of Canada.

I think the fence won't work. I know it's appealing as a cork in a jug, but it's impossible to build one that's breach proof, and we can't police the entire perimeter, in terms of manpower and dollars alone. What to do? Well, in all the states bordering Mexico, I think they could step up local police involvement. Check car dealerships, bus terminals, train stations, restaurants, shopping centers, groceries, walmarts, etc, and card people who are obviously Mexican. I know this isn't very nice sounding, but what happens is that once the magic fence is breached, they are suddenly in Wisconsin and Kentucky and New Jersey overnight. How's that happening? Simple: They are bleeding through these border states. And before leaving the border states, they spend some time before taking a ride north. STOP THEM THEN AND THERE!
I am proposing the alleged GOP solution to all problems, in other words: Let it be a locally handled problem, without large federal dollars being pumped at it. Big government no, local government yes. Don't look to the government to save you, etc.
What can you say to that?

Please, if there or 10 or 30 million it does not matter, they all broke the law first by coming and then as most say, " I only came for a job". which is a felony in it's self. I do not want to deport all, because if we wanted to, we could, but it would be a PR nightmare. I say do not grant amnesty, just dry up the jobs, and because most say they are only here to work, they will go home on their own

We will pass a law that makes it a felony to aid or assist an illegal alien in any way.
THEN we start putting people in prison. Make the sentence five years with no chance for parole or early release for EACH illegal helped. Helping includes hiring them, renting to them, allowing them to enroll in school, allowing them to be admitted to a hospital, giving them any medical or dental care, cashing a check, extending credit, opening a bank or credit account, letting them mow your lawn, selling them property, selling them a car etc.
Next secure the border with a good fence and set up a toll booth, charging anyone who wants to leave the country, but did not enter legally, a $1000 toll per person.
Use the toll money to pay a $500 reward to anyone who turns in a person who is helping illegals.
