I have made him as comfortable as possible and secluded him from the other cat. He is peeing in little droplets. I know it's a UTI but can't afford a Vet Bill right now. He's not bleeding and he eats just a little bit. Is it safe to give him Baby Aspirin. I made sure his blankets are clean as well as his catbox. I was thinking of giving him canned catfood without any fishmeal and adding just a little orange juice to it to make him pee easier. Am I doing the right things? Any recommendations??? I am feeling the little guys pain...he's my buddy.

if you MALE cat is unable to urinate well he may become completely blocked and if that happens he actually may become toxic and DIE. You really need to get him into a vet or find someone who can. This isn't something you should mess with, this CAN be a VERY serious problem

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing!

Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...

If you know he has an infection you know he needs antibiotics. Check with your local animal shelter for reduced veterinary care. If not an option, call a local vet & arrange a payment plan. My cat disappeared for one night, returned late in the afternoon next day with a swollen rear leg. I knew she had a wound infection & called the vet immediately. She was seen right away, given an injection, & meds for at home & the total bill was $48.00. You should be able to work something out at one place or another. I know it's hard but, ignoring his infection will only make it worse not better. When it gets worse the vet care will be more extensive & expensive, so act now. Best wishes

Seriosuly, get him to the vet. Sell something if you have to. Sell plasma, it gets you like $25-$50 depending on the place and your status. Do anything you have to, but get your cat to a vet. Vets offer payment plans, there is CareCredit which is for human or animal medical emergencies that you can apply for at the vet office.

The medication for a UTI is less than $10. The test for it is like $30 if the urine is taken directly from the bladder, and an office visit is like $30-$50 depending on your vet. If you wait on this, the cost will triple at least. You will be looking at a cost near or more than a thousand dollars if you just "make your cat as comfortable as possible".

If your cat has a history of UTI, your vet may just prescribe the medication.

ASPRIN WILL KILL YOUR CAT!!!!! Don't listen to any idiot who tells you it is safe. This is one of the reasons I hate Yahoo answers.

EDIT: Good luck at the vet! I hope everything goes well. Give us an update :)

It's more than a UTI, friend, if he's having trouble passing urine it's not just pain it's partial blockage. His urethra is inflamed, and probably becoming plugged with sand, mucous, or even full stones.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do at home to remedy this. If your cat fights off the infection (which is unlikely) then more the better. But right now you are risking his life, if he becomes fully blocked his bladder will distend, the infection and waste will back up into his kidneys, and he will die.

I'm sorry to hear this but you need to take the cat to the vet. This infection is quite dangerous to cats and it's not something you can cure yourself.

Please don't delay and take the cat to the vet, perhaps you can borrow the money from someone and pay them back later.

ummmm defintly bring him to the vet because that can lead to a disease to your cat and he will not be suffering anymore after you bring him, if you dont have the money to pay off the vet bill then your insurence will
good luck

Since you have a male cat THIS IS A MEDICAL EMERGENCY. The urine must be released immediately or he will die of renal poisoning.

What ever it takes you must get him to a vet or he will lose his life.

ABSOLUTELY NO asprin. That can kill him as surely as the renal poisoning.

You need to take your cat to the vet. If this isnt corrected he can have kidney failure and die. Never give animals human asprin. Its deadly for them.
