If you are going to be living in DC, or commuting into the city or close in suburbs, do not get anything that will attract attention from the thieves! The auto theft rate is high!

The weather in the area is not too bad. You will usually see some snow in the winter, but with any moderate snowstorm, most of the area shuts down. Even the subway system has problems, because a good portion of the system is actually above ground!

Traffic is such that you can be in a sports car or a econobox, and you will be going the same speed (slow)

He got it exactly right. Forget it, do not get a sports car for the DC area. You need an 82 Nissan with one window missing and a rag for a gas cap so that it will be there when you want to go home. Fuel mileage will kill you in a sports car in DC and your not going over 30 in town anyhow. The beltway on the other hand is very different depending on when you get on it. 5:30 AM is 85 miles an hour or your gonna get run over 7:30 AM good luck getting over 40. The whole area sucks! if I had to give the planet an enema I would stick it in DC!
