Because the root of their belief system is grounded in a dominionist creed that holds that we are all born wicked and evil, diseased imperfect offspring of two 'corruputed' parents. (Adam and Eve)
Inherent in this belief is also the concept of collective guilt.
Then there is the martyrdom and persecution complex.
The whole premise is demonstrably misanthropic, there is no way around that fact.

I don't hate myself or humanity. I don't hate you and I assume that you are different from me, hence using the label "Christians".
If you run into a self-righteous Christian or Catholic ( I am a former Catholic) you might find them to be a bit angry or protective over the state of the world. They should not be judging anyone, for it is not their job (See Matthew 7)
Please don't place everyone in the same boat as these overzealous, outspoken few. they want to be good, but they forget that they weren't appointed to be the "Sin Police".
If anything, you can smile and think of them as hypocrites for judging others, slandering people, and whining about God's kingdom. Yes, I suppose that it is a little sad.

Because you are being mislead. There is no fire in hell and the bible does not teach that.
It should be obivous that in Reverlation the bible referres to hell being thrown into the lake of fire.. Now does that make any sence? No it does not.
Preaching the truth about the bible helps everyone live life to the fullest. One of the main things in the bible is to be clean. not just physically but also in a spiritual sence. Being clean helps a person not get diseases, and so on. It is a loving thing to teach someone the bible and what it means to be a christian,

No, it's a bit humble. How can a species that kills, destroys and hates think so highly of itself? We are prideful and think we can do no wrong, yet even our passive thoughts are evil. It is human nature to think we are not deserving of hell because we only compare ourselves to other humans. When we accept that God is completely perfect, we realize we absolutely need Him.

Birdy,
It is truly sad that anyone chooses to judge others. CHRIST told HIS People not to do so. Yet they continue it without permission. I try never to sit above anyone. That is the best way to act and to treat others. I LOVE People and have a genuine desitre to learn from each of you. Have a wonderful day and a glorious week.
Thank YOU,

It's something that I like to call "false humility". They see humility as "lowness" so when they want to be humble they want to feel like they are filled with such lowness. They want to be as humble as possible (ironic, eh?) so they put themselves on a level far lower than they should. Now, because they are prideful (because really, how many of us as humans can say that we are not prideful?) they say we are all the same. So they are putting everyone else on that super low scale too.
They will say it's all a relative thing. "We are nothing compared with God." "Our love toward God is so much higher than our love for our family that our love for family is as hatred."
Blessings in the Light of Christ!

My husband and I come from huge families, mostly church goer Christians, and I have never sensed any kind of resentment, much less hate, among us or against anyone else outside our beliefs. Where have you been living so far and/or among what kind of *people*?????

not all Christians are like that! I don't judge, i feel that it is my decision to choose Christianity as it is other peoples decision to not choose it. it doesn't mean that I wish they were Christians and believed in God cause I know how great he is! but its every ones own decision since we live in a free country!

It is sad. And doesn't it sound like the kind of parent that threatens the children with punishments? It's all about control.

I don't hate myself, I love God and I love myself. And those who do hate themselves really don't know who God is. They don't know the love of God.
