I just wanted to find this out for her. She says that she has been having kinda like sinus pressure in her head and also had a stiff neck. on the left side of her neck formed some sort of bump on the side but the bump is starting to go away. She says she feels a little better today but feels like she doesnt wanna eat anything and a little nausious, she also said she feels a little woozy now and then. Thing is she hates doctors cuz they scare her and if its not serious she doent wanna go through with that because shes afraid they will say there is something really bad that is wrong with her. She lost her mom of cancer and is very afraid something bad is going to happen to her. So any ideas on what might be wrong?

stiff neck and headache can be signs of meningitis...get her to go to the ER ASAP and get checked...I am serious...I had a co-worker who was in nursing school and thought she had meningitis and I thought she was studying too hard...but she DID have meningitis. It is nothing to fool around with. She had to be treated in a hospital.

It sounds like she has a simple sinus infection. Infected sinuses will cause inner ear and balance problems.

Some simple across the counter Sinus medication will help.

The infection drains to the lymph nodes in the neck causing them to be tender and hard. The nausea comes from not eating and the sinus drainage going into her empty stomach.

If she will just nibble on some crackers it will help absorb the liquid junk in her stomach.

If she finally sees a Doctor she needs to see an Ear Nose and Throat Doctor.

This really doesn't sound at all serious. I have had sinus problems for a life time. Getting the flu shot usually helps it.

For me a change in the Barometric pressure (weather changes) always starts a sinus problem.

Chances are, it's a sinus infection and the lymph nodes are swelling to fight the infection. She needs to be seen by a doc to get the correct antibiotics to fight the infection. Tell your friend that when your sinuses aren't treated correctly, they could lead to things like heart failure, etc. Make a doc appointment today!

You know...there are sites like webMD and such where symptoms can be entered and possible diagnoses or whatever given. Better than coming on here where you don't know who you're getting advice from. But still...nothing can replace seeing an actual physician. And if you friend is so afraid something bad is going to happen to her, one would think it's better to be proactive than reactive.
