Ask your airline. In general, wine bottles must be in the checked baggage. Departing from the U.S. is downright silly. You will only be allowed 3 ounces of a liquid or less going through security. That means no toothpaste, shave cream, shampoos, and probably no deodorant.
When departing the U.S. go to a large drug store to purchase little travel size toiletries, often found in the "samples" department. This is called the "Bush economic recovery program" because it increases spending on everyday needs.

They will take the wine away. Anything over 3 oz is not permitted to be carried on, unless its a RX medication or breastmilk or juice for a toddler (and you must have a toddler with you). You'll have to pack it extra careful in your check on luggage or ship it ahead of time. The only other option would be to buy something at the airport in their duty free shops.

You'd better check with the airlines. I had 2 bottles of wine for the U.S. from Switzerland 7 months ago, and they took them both. I was not a happy camper.

No you are not allowed to bring wine bottles in your carry on luggage, the only way is to risk packing them in your checked luggage, but make sure they are completely padded as you would not want them to break and ruin your luggage.

I think they will take the wine away. Not only is it alcohol, but it is a liquid that could be unhealthily "contaminated" when it concerns the other passengers of the plane.
I'm sorry, but I really think that they will take it away from you. :( Plus, you're going to Spain! =3 Lots of good stuff there! )

NO. I lost an expensive bottle this way...........I thought the liquid thing was over, but it's not. Either mail it ahead or put it in checked baggage.
