Nobody in my family likes cranberry sauce, but another family came into my life this past weekend, so we're having them over for Thanksgiving dinner and thought I should make it. I can't stand that stuff in the can.. the suction noise... ewww!! Anyways, since I've only made it one other time, I don't remember how it's served. I don't need recipes, I use the one on the package, but haven't bought them yet. So could someone tell me how it's served??? Thanks!!! (I know.. dumb Thanksgiving question, but I have nothing else to ask now!!)

My family likes it just slightly cooled. You can put it in the refrig and then cut both ends off when you bring it out. That will let you coax it onto a plate in one nice piece for serving. I count how many people there are and be certain to slice it into more pieces than there are people. that way everybody gets at least one slice. Cranberries are an excellent source of nutrition and they actually help cleanse the blood stream of impurities. ENJOY!!!

I make mine several days ahead of time, then refrigerate. On Thanksgiving, I take it out several hours before dinnertime so that by the time we eat it is room temperature. Try a few drops of almond extract added to the sauce after it is cooked...delicious!

It's best served cold.

you need to chill it so it sets up, but you can let it set out to be served at room temp when dinner is served... (I always substitute a cup of orange juice for one cup of water, and add a little orange zest.)
