I believe it mainly has to do with the fact that it is to be a part of us. Since the Bible (Torah) was mostly a masculine sided writing, God laid it out for even the guys from way back then that the woman are to be a part of their lives and be embraced. One of the first eveidences was when, in Genisis, the man and woman are told to "cleave" to each other and become as one. It the neuter sense, if it is a man or a woman, we are to embrace and cleave on to wisdom and become one with "her". Or to bring it a little more home, it would be how us guys these days call a car, boat or a plane a woman's name. Not to condesend anything but that would be the best analogy I could think of.
At least now we know why you ladies always know so much. ( Did I save myself on that one? LOL)
God Bless you and fill you with the wisdom and knowledge of His Truth.

Because Wisdom is traditionally represented as a female Goddess, from the ancient Greek Sophia, to our own Statue of Liberty, and Blind Goddess Columbia sitting above the Supreme Court Building.

Dear Friend,
I hope the information below will be beneficial:
Wisdom is a feminine attribute, meaning that it is always portrayed using feminine imagery. Why? (Perhaps because wisdom is nurturing, causes growth, enhances safety and stability)
Jesus reveals to us the nurturing, protecting aspect of God’s heart and nature which he expresses..."how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings..."Luke 13:34b
Various psalms and other poetry see the feminine attribute of God's character. The psalmist rests in God... “Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.” Psalm 131:2
However, we absolutely must understand the gospel, in which God’s role is primarily masculine.
Note: I know of a seminary in the southeast (and I am sure there are more), that teaches... God is a HE/SHE. Which is absolute blasphemy.
Beware: Satan and his demonic army may prowl around in churches, but he starts by setting up his tents on seminary campuses.
Sincerely in His service,
lostnsavd...

:)
could be the same reason that cars, boats and plains are referred to as "she" or "her"...you know... a woman.
to me, its just a "figure of speech" as well as defining a certain degree of care and responsibility, in which women show more of then men...i love my wife. She cares more then i do, for more things than i do, and more people then i do, probably cares for me more then i do as well...just as an example
i think that could be part of the reason.

Given that, a better question is: Why don't all women exemplify wisdom?
