until after the holidays? Everyone in my family is telling me that it will be too hard to try to stay on a diet through Thanksgiving and Christmas. Maybe some of you have some tips on how to stay on track?

Well eating right is a habit... but you guys don't know my family at holiday time, lol... lots of food everywhere. It's really hard, lol. I mean, I'll admit, I love food.

As others have said, why feel bad about yourself by quitting? It is more important that you set realistic goals but that you continue thinking in terms of being healthy.

I am a weight loss coach and am about to start a support group, if you'd like to join. Check out my page and sign up for the Year End Program blog. It's free.

be well.

Refocus now. If you don't now, you'll keep putting it off. You'll say until after Thanksgiving, and then after Christmas, and then after New Years, and keep pushing it back.

To stay on track you just have to keep consistently motivated. Have friends who will keep you accountable. Don't deprive yourself, eat turkey and pie like everyone else, just watch your portions. There's a lot of room in between being on an extremely strict diet during the holidays and over-eating. Find a balance. And even if you give yourself a little wiggle room with the diet, don't stop exercising! Get in to a routine ASAP and then stick to it. Once you've got into the hang of it a couple weeks, it won't be a tedious thing to get up every morning and exercise. (And yes, you should do it in the morning: 80% of women who exercise on a regular basis do it on a morning schedule because it's easier to maintain.) Once you're used to it, it will no longer be a chore but part of your day, and it will make you feel great for the rest of the day. Good luck!

Get back on the wagon, and keep trying. If you don't, you'll feel guiltier than ever during and after the holidays, and on Jan 2, you'll be 5 lbs heavier than you would have been otherwise. You'll also be motivated to pass on 2nds during the holiday meals, so you might be even better off this way. Make exercise and eating right a habit, not just something you do now and then.

No you do not have to wait, if you wait you might never get back on the "wagon". You should just try to limit your portions at thanksgiving and x-mas. Try a little if everything but don't stuff yourself until you can't move. If you really want a piece of cheesecake or a cookie go ahead and have it without guilt, but don't have the whole cheesecake or 10 cookies..Its all about portion control. Try making sure that you get some more exercise and that may help too..

Don't wait. You know you're going to probably over due it on those few days, but don't sabotage your whole diet. You will feel less guilty indulging on just those holidays then if you blow off your diet the entire month.
Realize that thanksgiving and Christmas are each only a day long, not a month long. And ask your family why they are trying to discourage your good diet.

Don't you dare beat yourself up over this... you are a beautiful woman!
As far as what you should do, just take each day, each meal, as it comes! Be mindful of what you're putting into your body and if you "indulge" a bit one time, just remember to take it easy later on. If you aren't getting the "regular" exercise like you think you should, focus a bit more on whatever you Are doing... park a bit further from the entrance,... exagerate motions and flex more when you're doing everyday stuff. It does make a difference!
But, seriously, you are one hot babe! Don't sweat what some dumbasses might say about "ideal weight" and all that... "Healthy" is what you're after, and that comes in many sizes!
Good luck, beautiful!

Refocus now and indulge a little on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but stay the course. Throwing in the towel at this point would be too discouraging for you to pick it back up after the New Year.

It's not impossible to focus now. Just have smaller portions during the holidays. Maybe have a late lunch so you'll have less of an appetite during dinner.

Never wait. That is the key to weight loss. If you wait now, you will always find an excuse to put it off, or exceptions to your diet. When you overcome the toughest hurdles, like Christmas, you will appreciate it more, and would have learnt more for the future, and it will be easier from then on.
