How do you explain my 8 month old cousin. She died 2 years ago, after the entire family was without hope for her condition and turned to God.
For every "miraculous" recovery, there is thousands of children dying of poverty and disease. Are they less worthy than you of God's mercy?

The answer is simple, though frustrating for believers.
Jesus said “for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see.” The non-believer can't possibly hear or see God's message of salvation because they refuse to do so.
It's all a matter of the heart, but these people would want logic and reason to give them proof of God's existence.
Like the Pharisees who urged Jesus to “show us a sign” they will not see it until they stand before the White Throne judgment when it will be too late.
Explaining the miracles, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and all the promises of God fulfilled is easy. When you seek God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your strength, He will be there for you always and will never forsake you.

I am glad that you found peace with your God.
People who don't believe in your God usually simply do not "sense him," even if they want to. In other cases (such as mine), people cannot believe the dogmatic baggage that comes with a particular concept of Deity. Those of us who feel the presence of the Divine but cannot rationally accept the baggage may end up believing in a different concept of God than you do. Or if someone has experience more than one concept of Divinity, they may believe in many Gods.
Miracles are very slippery. How can one know if a healing event is a "miracle" vs. a natural or spontaneous healing? If you think it's a miracle, how do you know that a God has caused it as opposed to a spiritual force within yourself? And which God? Asclepius was responsible for all kinds of miraculous healings in ancient Greece and was also known for his kindness towards the ill. Perhaps he is the one you had contact with.

Leave 'em alone hon, they won't believe until they do. You say that God was there beside you even when you denied Him, so give them the same chance. Be there, but don't insist they know Him. Some simply never will, others may come around in time.

So I'm just supposed to take your word for it? Sorry, doesn't work that way. I spent a long time wanting to "sense" your god, wanting to believe, wanting a relationship with Christ...but there came a point when I could no longer delude myself. It's not possible to FORCE oneself to believe. Becoming an atheist was a very painful process...I didn't WANT to be one...but I am one.

Atheists are totally relying on science and some scientists who have a little knowledge of the universe.
If they don't know the truth and reality beyond their 5 senses they cannot claim the non-existance of God.
Their beloved science is still in its infancy. Its basic classification of elements is not yet complete? How come they deny creation process!
Our God is the Creator and lord of universe.
He cannot be judged with 5 senses. He is unique!
He is the Hope of hopeless!

God Is So Good isn't He??? That is the kind of miracles that we see and makes people believe that doctors and nurses don't have no power!!! God gave them the wisdom, but what it all boils down to is that he is Lord!!! and there is nobody like him!!! God said "By His Stripes We Are Healed!!" and i can tell that you believe that and I Love It!!!!! It is the atheist choice not to believe!! I want everyone to be saved, but the devil is real and God is awesome and people NEED to realize that!!!

Can you give any objective proof that what you "sense" is real rather than something in your imagination that you enjoy believing in or need to believe in? People recover from illnesses. Its not proof of a God. People also often suffer horribly and die. My sister had a premature infant in the ICU for six weeks. In the unit next door a family prayed almost nonstop over their infant. The child died. Believers say that was just God's will or test or part of some plan. They say this although there is no evidence to assume so. Good people get ill and die. Good people get ill and recover. Bad people get ill and die. Bad people get ill and recover. It all looks pretty random to me. I would more credit your recovery to modern medicine and good physicians.

the miracles probably is just because the doctors took action and put all the effort and time to get rid off the diseases, and you yourself helped out with that.

There is nothing wrong with religion if, as in your case, it is helping to improve lives. Some people like me, however, find life perfectly fine without believing in a deity. However, I am bothered that I am constantly harassed by people telling me that I'm going to hell if I don't convert, people launching political campaigns to remove evolution from science classrooms with a purely religious agenda and the like. I am bothered by people like Kent Hovind spreading ignorance and dogma to the children of America. I would be okay with religion, if people stop claiming that the Bible is scientifically accurate when its contents say that Pi is equal to 3 and the Sun revolves around the earth in a mater-of-fact manner.
These things really puts me off to God, and all his fundamentalist followers.

'Miracle' has two meanings. Recovering from a serious illness is great, and colloquially it's often referred to as miraculous. But unless you're talking about the supernatural kind of miracle there's nothing for us to explain. So it depends what sort of diseases you had. Did you regrow any limbs? Because that would be a miracle.
