Here's a trick my mother always told me: Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, nice and slow.

It is so soothing and helps with upset stomachs. Get well soon!

You should not medicate stomach pain until you see your Doctor . If you have a problem ,you could be masking the symptoms.
Try relaxation , rest ,and slow breathing . Perhaps a warm heating pad for a few minutes would be comforting.
If the pain continues to get worse or you develop other symptoms go to the Dr. or Emergency department.
Sometimes a doctors office can advise you too.

Dear Asker!

If you have stomach ache, may be you have got gastritis or peptic ulcers (gastric and duodenal ulcers).

Be sure to rule out other causes of acute abdominal pain like pancreatitis, biliary stones, appendicitis, kidneys stones and heart problems as myocardial infarction before taking those medications.

Here are the treatment guidelines!
If you don't feel better, contact your doctor as soon as possible!

What treatments are available for peptic ulcers?

The goal of ulcer treatment is to relieve pain and to prevent ulcer complications, such as bleeding, obstruction, and perforation. The first step in treatment involves the reduction of risk factors (NSAIDs and cigarettes). The next step is medications.

Antacids neutralize existing acid in the stomach. Antacids such as Maalox, Mylanta, and Amphojel are safe and effective treatments. .

Studies have shown that a protein in the stomach called histamine stimulates gastric acid secretion. Histamine antagonists (H2 blockers) are drugs designed to block the action of histamine on gastric cells, hence reducing acid output. Examples of H2 blockers are cimetidine (Tagamet), ranitidine (Zantac), nizatidine (Axid), and famotidine (Pepcid).

Proton-pump inhibitors such asomeprazole (Prilosec), lansoprazole (Prevacid), pantoprazole (Protonix), esomeprazole (Nexium), and rabeprazole (Aciphex) are more potent than H2 blockers in suppressing acid secretion.

Sucralfate (Carafate) and misoprostol (Cytotec) are agents that strengthen the gut lining against attacks by acid digestive juices. Carafate coats the ulcer surface and promotes healing. The medication has very few side effects.

Since coffee stimulates gastric acid secretion, and alcohol can cause gastritis, moderation in alcohol and coffee consumption is often recommended.

Hope that may help you!
Good luck!

Sick how?? Are you vomiting or been vomiting. To treat this, sips of room temperature pop taken frequently will help along with some tylenol if you have pulled any muscles while vomiting; if it is just pain - liquid antacids taken frequently will help. If these methods don't help then it is time to see a doctor.
