It depends if you believe in a collective unconscious. Say you were a Christian from a Christian family with Christian ancestors, but then went to Pakistan where the religious symbols are different. Now lets say you were in deep depression and needed to turn to prayer, but wanted to turn to prayer in the Pakistani manner, your nature/personality would not tolerate it because it is alien to your way of thinking, living, communicating on so many levels. So in a practical sense no, each religion is unique and justifiably so. However, if you were a gnostic or more so a Zen practitioner (lol), you would not have much problems integrating all these symbolic meanings... and you would find peace easily... this is the beauty of difference... and is used by tyrants to oppose each against the other... through manipulating misunderstanding and misprepresentation.

I dont want to argue with you, but your question is no nonsense when i read this phrase " is one horse in the race as good as another. This is not a question of any kind of race whether animals or people are involve when we talk of religion. This is a question of belief and faith. Religion is necessary in this world whether ur a muslim, christian,or catholic. It is not a namebrand that we are talking here, but of one belief, faith, tradition or whatever that was handed to us from one generation to another. Every religion is good to oneself as we see it as salvation of our life and guidance. Though we believe in one God with different name in different religion as different families had a father with different name but still has a father.

Obviously not every horse is as fast as every other horse.
However even if the analogy applies to different religions, fundamentalism causes so many problems it is better to just say that they are equally fast.
Perhaps if you can conclusively prove that one is better than the other then it is okay to say so, but religious issues are usually quite difficult to settle like this.

It depends on your purpose. If you seek to live in harmony with yourself and the earth follow druidism or shamanism. If you wish to become enlightened follow buddhism. If you seek to serve the Creator follow judaism, christianity, islam or hinduism. If you seek to serve our local cosmos seek out the heathen gods and goddesses.
We have been granted free will and are therefore free to determine our own goals and development paths. I believe it would be wise for mankind not to try to run before it can walk and therefore belief it would be good to use the right religions/tools for each of our stages of development.

Depends who you ask. Personally, i could care less about all of it as i think every religion is pointless, based on myth, a crutch for weak or lazy people, and a tool for the gov. to control masses. But, to each his own. Try Buddhism, they are one of the few religions that seem truly content.
