1. Try and adopt a vegetarian diet. A vegetarian diet is undoubtedly better for those of us watching our diet. There are a lot of advantages of keeping to a vegetarian diet but I don’t want to sing an ode to vegetarianism now.


What I would suggest is keep to a vegetarian diet as much as you can. Make a non- vegetarian diet a week end event or something if you find it impossible to give up eating all those animals.


2. Choose white meat rather than red. White meat, which includes fish and fowl, is miles better than red meat, which includes beef and pork for those trying to lose weight.


3. High Fiber multigrain breads are better than white breads. Remember how I told you to increase the fiber content in your food; well this is the answer to that. It is not only better in terms of the fiber content but also in terms of the protein content as well.

4. Reduce your intake of pork. Pork is not something that can help you to lose weight. So the lesser pork you eat the better chances you have of losing weight. And remember that pork includes the pork products as well, things like bacon, ham and sausages.

5. Limit your sugar intake. If you can’t have things unsweetened go for sugar substitutes. These things are just as sweetening but are certainly not fattening. 6. Graze 5 to 6 times a day. Instead of sticking to just three meals a day, try grazing. Grazing means try having 5 or 6 smaller meals instead of three king sized meals. It is an excellent way of having smaller quantities of food.

You’ve certainly heard the expression many times, “You are what you eat.” Have you ever really thought about what it means? And do you think about it when you’re making food choices? In some ways, we do become what we eat, literally.

If you have a family history of high cholesterol or high blood pressure, then it’s particularly incumbent on you to revise your eating habits. Moving towards a more vegetarian diet has been shown statistically to reduce the incidence of so many of the diseases of industrialized countries.

Vegetarians are statistically healthier than omnivorous persons; they’re leaner and live longer.

Isn’t it time to think about what you want to be and to eat accordingly? Do you want to be sluggish and fat?

Do you want the risk that goes with eating animal products, with their high fat content or new diseases that are appearing? Or do you want to look like and be what vegetarians are?

Leaner and fitter with a longer anticipated lifespan. It’s never too late to change what you’re doing and increase your chances for a longer, fitter life.

In 2000 I finally made the total transition to becoming a full Vegetarian in my eating habits, and I have never felt better.

For twenty years earlier I had chosen to only eat “free range” eggs, because I had learned about the bad conditions that battery hens were kept in, and slowly over the years my views about animal farming, and slaughtering animals for our consumption, changed the more I learned and thought about what I was eating.

My reasons for becoming Vegetarian were simply because of a desire to not harm any living creatures – I simply could not eat anything with a face anymore – it just didn’t feel right to me. But the Health benefits of the vegetarian diet was also a great motivator

Any whole natural foods. I eat nothing but fruits, veggies, beans and whole grains. No meat. No dairy. Since I'm not working out, my post-birth weight loss isn't rapid, but two months later, I only have seven pounds to go. Now, I do do some things like I did yesterday. I unnecessasrily had a couple of slices of cinnamon toast (never mind I was using all natural Smart Balance, I still didn't need it), and an all natural peanut chocolate granola bar that I also really didn't need. Eh. At least I can fit into one pair of non-maternity jeans and one pair of pants.

I don't count calories, but I do look at what I'm eating and how much. Like yesterday, when I realized that I didn't need two slices of bread. (I wasn't thinking and should have offered one to my husband.) I knew I didn't need the granola bar, but I took it anyway. Eh. Today is a new day.

Anyway, everything in moderation.

The slimming foods are the low calorie foods. Low cal yogurt (60-80 cal a package); apples - small 80 cal; low cal bread - 35 a slice; tomatoes, lettuce, squash.

The only way to lose weight specifically by a diet is by counting calories.

Slimming down naturally with food
All foods carry some calories. No food is actually "negative calorie" food. BUT the overall effect of certain foods in our body is that of "negative calories". Negative calorie foods are foods, which use more calories to digest than the calories the foods actually contain! Calories from these foods are much harder for the body to breakdown and process. In other words, the body has to work harder in order to extract calories from these foods. This gives these foods a tremendous natural fat-burning advantage.
A piece of dessert consisting of 400 calories may require only 150 calories to be digested by our body, resulting in a net gain of 250 calories which is added to our body fat! According to this theory, for example, if you eat 100 calories of a food that requires 150 calories to digest, then you've burnt an additional 50 calories simply by eating that food. Typically, a 25 calorie piece of broccoli (100 gram) requires 80 calories to digest, resulting in a net loss of 55 calories from the body fat!! Thus, the more you eat, the more you lose weight!!!

Black soybeans. They are a natural fat inhibitor. Also, grapefruit, it's a fat burner. Bananas are known to be a super food too. However, what you eat, how much you eat and how often and how well you exercise are factors too. Hope this helps. :)
