My child is already 4yrs old and I just realised that he only has 18 teeth when child by this age should already have 20. The 2 upper molars are no where in sight...what's wrong?

He could be a late bloomer or they could be congenitally missing. Have your dentist take an x-ray or a Pediatric Dentist take an x-ray and check the development of the unerupted teeth. They can give you a better idea of what treatment plans, if any, would be best for your child.

At age 48, I am also missing 2 molars(on the bottom), never formed any wisdom teeth, and still have 2 baby teeth on the top. This hasn't caused me any problems, but makes it very interesting the first time a new dentist tries to identify which teeth are missing on an xray.

As a pediatrician there are a couple of things that I would need to find out,
One, is there any calcium deficiency, and two is there congenital absence of the milk molars...
For this the best thing would be talk to your pediatrician and get an appointment with a pedodontist ,
