Most of the Christians I know believe in evolution, but then, I work with educated Catholics.

I know it sucks. I am a Buddhist and I love the theory of evolution. It really makes sense.

When I debated with atheists I also got "all religions are fundamentalist" "all religions invoke blind faith" "no religion can have a positive affect" etc. I think a lot of these people have Christianity as there only point of reference. They live in the UK or the US which has a lot of Christian-influenced people, and they don't study other religions in depth so they come up with overgeneralizations like this.

Edit: Oh yeah evolutionists as well. They are the same.

I have never heard any Evolutionary Biologists make that claim. I happen to be an atheist who finds more reason to believe Evolution happened than that it did not. I have met quite a few Christians who do not deny Evolution. I think even the Catholic Church regards it as truth.

Evolutionists are a small Calvinist sect who believe that the rest of the world are atheists. It doesn't matter whether we are Christian or not, or whether we believe in evolution or not. If we don't believe that the King James bible was personally dictated by God, we are beyond the pale.

We don't even (at least not all of us) call ourselves evolutionists, let alone assume that everyone who accepts the reality of evolution is atheist. I know people of more than one religion that are smart enough to realise that their religion contains aspects of mythology that shouldn't be taken as 100% literal and/or accurate.

We don't call ourselfs "evolutionists", we just say that we believe in evolution.

There are a lot of believers who believe in evolution as well. I am one of them, and from a previous question I understood that many christians do too

well, maybe its because of this, the theory of evolution and the theory of god's creation are totally different from one another so when one say that he believes on the theory of evolution, it clearly explains that he dont believe the other one which really does make sence for how can you accept two thoughts with exactly different interpretations or meanings....... just my opinion..

"Evolutionists" don't do that. There are many more theists that accept evolution than atheists. Well at least that's what the polls say.

Because those who are against evolution are creationists and they base their silly ideas on a book called the bible. Only religious people believe in the bible.
