I have never heard of anyone being baptized after death.

Googled the question..guess it is a practice.

"In short, it looks like the baptism of the dead was a non-biblical practice of the Corinthian church where a living person was baptized in lieu of a person that passed away, as a means of making a public profession of faith for a person that was already deceased. We can, essentially, think of it as the practice of baptizing a deceased person."

1st, you are quoting a book that has no real spiritual merit. So, when you quote Joseph Smith, you are quoting false doctrine.

Joseph Smith was a false prophet. When you read the BOM, you see that it says Jesus was born "near Jerusalem" and not in Bethlehem (in accordance with real Biblical prophecy). Ergo, throw the entire BOM out into the trash.

When you read the Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price, you find many of Smith's unfulfilled prophecies.

The Old Testament standard for a "prophet" is that ALL of his prophecies come to pass when he says they will. So, Smith's dated prophecies that did not come to pass move him into the category of false prophet.

No if you dont want the devil to get your loved one you have to baptize after death. If you wash the sins from the corrupt body you set his spirit free. The spirit cant be guilty of sins of the body.

As long as a soul has left the body i.e. the body is dead there's nothing done that will be of benefit to that soul.
