they say they are not praying to them....but Ive seen it and if they are not praying there must be a TV hidden in there they are watching.

No, it isn't possible. The only one we should pray to is God. To pray to anyone except God is wrong and idolatry.

If you to a frying pan with all your problems and pray to it. If you believe in your heart it talks to you and you put merit into what you "believe it has told you" You experiance joy from your time with it and so on a so forth then It is your God.
God will not force you to serve and love him.
we are not his robots. We have a choice.

it is basically symbolism really, interscession is common, wew may not feel worthy to ask directly, if it is all kept in context then I`m sure it is fine, no?
