A scientific belief in evolution does NOT preclude the possibility of divine intervention. Science is based on factual evidence and proof. There is no evidence or proof to preclude divine intervention.

For your manipulative religion to have any power over people, it has to be believed in heart and soul, or it losses it's power. This is why the religious rally and rail against scientific claims which counter that which is written in the bible. This is what you are really afraid of, isn't it? You see it as a step away from religion! Guess what? Science isn't going to let up on trying to learn how the universe works, so it is only going to get worse.

They at least know that they have brains, and that it's not a sin to use them.
When Copernicus figured out that the earth orbits the sun, the church came down on him like a shower of poo. Modern day creationists are just the same bunch in a slightly different form.

Because their religions treated them like sheep instead of equals. They try to tell them what to do instead of teaching them why something it and how to teach it to others. They teach them that only the elitists can be the teachers and preachers and they must be paid well for the right. As such, people grow up believing to be a Christian, but not really fully know what that means.

Why does science and religion have to collide? Couldn't you believe God to be the ultimate scientist- and therefore used science in the creation? Why does God's miracles HAVE to break the laws of nature? The fact is, God created man- why does it matter how he created him? A miracle is a miracle.

No, the theory of evolution relies on chance. Nothing happens by chance Chance is really an admission of ignorance. So evolution relies on ignorance.
Christians say that God operates within the world and what we see as chance is God's intervention.

Trying to avoid evolution is farting against thunder, old chap. It's simply true, and you're fighting an unwinnable battle if you try to get around it.
