Purgatory is for final purification of the soul before entry into heaven for Catholics.

purgatory is a myth. God had a place where the Saints of the Old Testament were kept while they awaited the promise of the Messiah. Every man who is saved from Adam and Eve to this present day were saved because they believed in the Messiah. He had not come during the Old Testament days so they could not attain the fulness of the Promise. Therefore, they were kept in a place called Abraham's Bosom. They waited until Jesus Christ rose from the dead and when he did he brought captivity captive. (Or those in Abraham's Bosom into Heaven.) Many graves were broke open and many of the Dead were seen by those they loved when this happened.
All this to be said that many people have mistaken Abraham's Bosom for purgatory but there isn't a purgatory.

No there's not! I can't find a single reference in the Scriptures which supports the existence of a place called purgatory. The Bible is the final authority on all matters and not the "head" of some organization claiming themselves to be a church
