What do you know - its supposed to rain today. Do you think this could be an answer to prayer, or do you think they waited to pray as a group until the forecast showed rain?

I heard a saying once - prayer is asking for rain, faith is taking an umbrella. Which do you think they're doing this morning?

BTW - the forecast for the last week has shown only spotty light showers that wouldn't amount to much, if anything. They prayed, and now the forecast is for an inch or more in some places.

Fine by me!
Whether the good people of Georgia waited for the forecast or no, it is the Good Lord who answers prayers, including sending the rain.

He's an imbecile.
Everyone knows that you don't pray for rain, you must dance for rain. I'm pretty sure they looked at the 7 day forcast, and wanted to make it look like a miracle.

no longer an argument for decrease than Shia Muslims, different thinking properly-adjusted Muslims, would desire to shelter the comparable concern. Hajj is a non secular accountability, and if one would desire to, it may be greater advantageous that one did no longer pray at the back of someone who themes fatwas asserting the earth is flat (bin Baaz) or believes that making Muslims homeless is okay (see decrease than). yet for a Muslim, persistence is a variety of valour. For a real Muslim, they have an huge experience of the sanctity/sacredness of places and it may be thoroughly against Muslim prepare to teach alterations in the Holy precincts.

you know... i get sick of people getting upset whenever someone prays or says GOD. yet... all the filth and vulgarity.. that spews from the mouths of people in public and on television and movie screens are fine. that is pathetic. does prayer hurt you? NO.. so what is the big deal? the same people who complain about prayer.. would pay me thousands.. if i said i could wave a stick and bring rain. it has nothing to do with church and state. it has to do with people gathered to seek assistance from a higher power. obviously we cannot play GOD ..so why not go to the real source.

at this point, folks, it don't matter WHAT they do , as long as they do SOMETHING.... it's DRY down there!!!..... if they think prayer might help, let 'em pray.... if a raindance might help, we'll go for that, too.... if a coven will dance naked in the woods tonight and bring rain tomorrow, that's fine, too!!.... we don't CARE how or why or who or what... we just need RAIN!!!!

Personally, I'm just wondering why none of them are thinking "hey, wait a minute, if God controls the weather, then why are we having a drought in the first place?"

I didn't realize it was "the government" that prayed; I thought it was just people...who happened to hold public office...

I think it is a good idea to pray for rain, even if it is forcast

The government should do more public held open prayers. In fact it never should have stopped.
