I live in Nevada and I am trying to figure out if a ATV could be street legal.

I wouldn't ask a Metro officer.

DMV is a better deal.

I hate to tell someone that they are wrong but Jim is. I live in Indiana, ATV's are street legal as long as they are registered with the state, you have the registration #'s stickered on the quad in plain site. You cannot ride an ATV on interstate's or highways, and when riding on the road you have to be 2 wheels on the road and 2 wheels off. To find out about your state ask a cop or go to the DMV and find out.

Any 4 wheeled vehicle is considered a "car" and must pass safety and emissions test to become street legal. That would be impossible to do with a 4 wheeler. Some states allow non-street legal vehicles to drive on the streets, but only small roads in rural areas. I guarantee you there is nowhere in the United States where you could drive a 4-wheeler in the city or on the highway.

I have been in several states that DO license ATVs for street legal operation, but Nevada is not one of them. They are still considered to be 'off-road only' vehicles here.

Sorry Jim, do your homework.. Your incorrect.

Arizona allows them, they have the same rules/rights as a regular motorcycle does. Ride where you like. No need to keep two wheels off the road.

They are plated and insured just like a motorcycle. Each state is different, but Arizona doesn't require turn signals, but a horn and brake light are required. DOT approved tires are required as well, but there isn't a state inspection, so you acn get away with stock ones.

I don't think they are in NV because they are considered an offroad only vehicle, but call the DMV to make sure. There may be a loop hole in the system...

You see tractors or road-grader using the roads just as a car. There has to be some special provisions.

Put on one of those slow vehicle signs you get at farm supply and get insurance from GECKO. Then if you do get st oped you can say you thought it was legal.

In my state? No. Here they are OHRVs. Off Highway Recreational Vehicles. The off highway means no roads.

Forktail's link shows the same for Nevada. Sorry.
