You never know. It changes from year to year. That's the one reliable thing about the weather in Ireland, you can't count on it at all.

Strangely enough May is the driest month according to records.
I wouldn't listen to anyone who has spent just a year here!!! Weather is so changeable. I can say without argument tho that rain will hit you sometime!

The weather there is always kinda sulky, I lived there for a year and even in summer it was very rainy. Especially in May or springtime you are going to be looking at a rainy time. But hey, it is always like that so you might as well go then, it won't really make a difference...

Irish weather is amongst the most unpredictable in the world.
So the most you can predict is probably the average temperature which will be cool with rain periods.

Often cold to freezing. My husbands bday is 18th of May and he says it had almost ALWAYS rained on his birthday. Hehe my bday is 08/08 and I grew up in Spain. It never rained on my bday until I moved to Ireland :-(
