is this a reasonable thing to do?

i am close this girl for 4 years already. because we chat often, go out together, share problems and even hug and kiss each other, i assumed that she felt close to me too.

one nite, i made a stupid move. when we were sitting in embrace, i touched her breasts. thereafter, she was mad at me for a while.

anyway, at that time, she was moving apartments, and feeling so close to her as i was, i offered to pick up some rather expensive furniture that she was interested in.

i confessed to her that i loved her. but she said she only "loves me as a friend".

i was surprised because i thought that all her signals so far was more than just a friend.

anyway, i am thinking that if she considers me as just a friend, then buying the pricey furniture may not be the most appropriate thing to do. at least for now anyways. what do you think?

btw, the furniture has come and she has paid for it. but i still have not mentioned anything to her yet.

Your friend has shown her mind and attitude very clearly to you by her behavior. Now it is worthless to run after her or to spend a single cent on her.Spending any money will neither be appropriate now nor will be appropriate in future. You should reconcile to the present situation.
