hey, i'll be going on a holiday in europe. mainly switzerland, germany, france and U.K. what i'm wondering over is whether it is okay to wear contacts when i'm there. i'll be arriving in europe next friday.(23th nov) and will stay there for 12 days. i assume its just about winter time right?
the thing is, i want to wear contact lenses instead of my specs. i've been using contacts for about the past 7 mths or so. i use "focus dailies" one-day soft lenses. i've heard that during winter time, it'll be cold and dry...and one's eyes will be sort of dry... and it will be uncomfortable to one's eyes if one is wearing contacts. may i have your point of view on this?
oh and.. on the plane...will it be fine to wear contacts? i dont plan to buy any special lenses. i plan to use my ordinary one-day ones. thanks a bunch people. =)

You could also take your glasses along as well, just in case. They would be handy if you lose a contact or get pink eye or something.

I went to visit some friends in Alaska once in the middle of winter(crazy I know) and I loved wearing my contacts. They have a very dry cold up there and my eyes were fine. The only time they got dry was towards the end of the flight because it was so long.
But I use Healthy Eyes contact solution which I get here http://www.acuvuecontactlens.info/ because I can also use them as eye drops.
The best part about wearing the contacts up there though was not having to deal with my glasses fogging up every time I came in from being outside. Hope this helps.

It is fine to wear your contacts during the winter. It's quite humid in many places in Europe, so I don't know that you will suffer a whole lot of dryness. Take along some contact lens re-wetting drops for when you might be experiencing dry contacts. It's fine to wear contacts on airplanes.
