So, my 17 year old daughter, who has been playing basketball for 10 years. She is 6'1" and about 200 lbs. She's been having problems with her knees swelling and a lot of pain. Well, I took her up to U of M to see an orthopedic surgeon who requested an MRI for her knees. The next day she called to say that my daughter has arthritis and that nothing could be done about it. Can this be true? She really wants to continue playing basketball when she goes to college, but the pain is getting worse. Does anyone have any suggestions to help out an athlete?

First thing you are supposed to do is avoid pain killer meds. Now you will come to know the pain grade.

Second thing is rest. Avoid all types of stress and strains on knee joints. Your daughter is young and she can escape out with proper guidance only, because -
There is no medicine for RA, OA, H/A, Back ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES,
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, INDIVIDUAL CONSTITUTION etc are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 90% success in treating ALL PAINS confirms it.

Third is Acupuncture; it is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

(Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.)

Fourth is Naturopathy. Some herbal pulps, hot mud bandages around knee will help.
Pure ghee drawn from butter is the best lubricant; pl use it in both meals.
Milk, cocoanut, sprouts, and salads will also help.

But remember rest will be the best.

I have very painful arthritis in my hands and feet. My most painful joint is in my left thumb. I have cortisone injections into the joints. First time I had it done I cried all the way home. The pain went from the tips of my fingers all the way up to my neck. This lasted about 3 hours then after that I get at least 6 months relief. The cure is worse than the complaint but not for long. It is well worth it. I dont know whether this will help your daughter but it might be worth asking the doctor. If the pain is really bad it might be worth a try.

I am an extremely active person too. Arthritis runs in my family and so do shin splints. I have had shin splints so severe that they were sensitive to heat. I would be taking a shower with my girlfriend and I would just collapse because I felt as if my shins were going to snap.

What helped me were a few things. I drank a LOT of milk. Also, I take something called glucosamine with chondroitin. They are vitamins and they worked extremely well for me.

Also, Knox gelatin is known to help out and also there is this oriental stuff called agar agar that helps too.

Hope I helped or at least gave you a better idea! -James

Imagine for a moment your arthritis completely vanishing right now.

If, in a moment, your pain and stiffness melted away. And your joints all of a sudden functioned like a well-oiled machine.

Like a magic wand was waived, you'd be able to jump up from your chair and run around the room like a kid.

And imagine that you'd never have to suffer as much as a pinch of arthritis stiffness or pain ever again.

I know this sounds impossible right now, but bear with me, because sometimes miracles happen.

It was a gift from a woman on the other side of the world. From the kindness of her heart, she took pity on my suffering and taught me how to completely reverse my arthritis.

Today, I want to do the same for you!

I too was athletic back then and arthritic....

These days there should be something they can do? Get a second opinion if that is she wants to continue with her sports. I had to give up track and I was very good at it (held up the number one spot all through in middle school and was told it was still there when I graduated, lettered my freshmen year). Do not give up!! There has to be something better these days that can be done!!

Good luck and I sure wish her the best!

one thing i know works wonders on joints is Glucosamine. it can help to rebuild joint cartilage which is one of the main problems.
some people believe it does little or nothing, but from my experience and people i know with joint problems who take it say it works. i think it depends on each brand and their source. i know the one i use works as i am a state level cross country runner and it helps me, it also worked wonders when i split my knuckle joint straight down the middle. though but i cannot be sure about other brands.
I get all my vitamins from Nutriway, which is the leading brand in health suppliments in the world. All their products come from completely natural sources, being plants and i will guarentee them (thats a promise) to work and are the best there is.
anyway, im here to message if you cant find anything.

You really need to read "Stop Shin Splints" by Gary Buchenic (also available in electronic format here: http://www.shinsplintscure.org ). It's about how to permanently cure your shin splints naturally. Worked for me and for thousands of people. Good luck!
