this is problably a rally dumb question, but I have not been able to figure out how to move the sutter speed...any help

as other have said, the D80 have this great feature not listed on all websites: the manual book. It's a new invention so it will be VERY helpful under your circumstances.

Time to actually READ & STUDY the Owner's Manual for your camera. That is the only way to learn how to operate your camera.

You can try going onto the menu and lokking aroung for the proper option

dial your button to either S or M. (S = shuttle, M = Manual) Look you manual for more info.
