Now not all brain tumours are malignant (cancerous) - naturally if the tests come back showing the tumour is benign (non-cancerous) that may only be a excellent factor. However, as the brain is this type of touchy organ, any growth in there can rationale enormous issues, causing things like lack of signt or speech or paralysis and so forth. Generally although, these matters can also be successfully operated on elegant on the place within the brain the tumour is located and you are proper, it doesn't support to invariably seem on the black side. Individuals can and do live on these things - I real hope your auntie will come by means of this.

That's a question for your doctor! Pituitary tissue is not brain tissue even though the gland is in your brain. It can cause other problems because it's a gland but not generally cancer. Find out more from your doc exactly what kind of tumor it is and where it is in the gland. Take notes if it helps so you're very clear about it. He's supposed to tell you all this. It's your body and your life. He works for you!

first of all, avatar Echo does not know what he or she is talking about... benign and malignant are categories... benign does not mean negative.
I had a brain tumor that was diagnosed by MRI as a "benign" cystic meningioma brain tumor... it definately was not considered negative ... in fact I had to have a crainiotomy (open brain surgery) to dig it out of my brain because the size of it was killing me.
then during a routine follow up MRI about six months after the operation the tumor was seen growing back... only this time much more aggressively and faster.... and now this time it is malignant (cancerous)
the prescribed treatment now includes brain surgery again, and chemotherapy and radiation therapy follow up treatments... which will be necessary to keep tonic-clonic seizures and brain damages in check...AED meds are prescribed to help keep the brains electrical charges from going out of control which lead to uncontrollable seizure activity.
note: if successful I can look forward to possibly 5 to 9 years of extended life on meds and f/u lab tests~~~

When the laboratory test result stated "BENIGN" nothing to worry at it. It is of mild character or negative. It's not cancerous, to be specific.
There's no piturity gland, I think you mean pituitary gland.
