you have to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and yes, you can count tea as some of it but not more than 4 glasses - the other 4 has to be water. (its a little thing dietitians dont like telling people because they replace all water with tea/coffee eventually)

Tea is a diuretic, so you would end pretty dehydrated.
Best not to overdo it on tea. 2 times a day, tops, and plenty of water to replace the water lost from all the tea.

I was told at a WW meeting that any liquid counts but at least half your intake should be water. If you drink decaf tea with splenda or equal there's no calories or caffeine so it would be similar to water. (Avoid too much caffeine though because it is a dieuretic...I was also told that you should drink an EXTRA cup of water for every drink you have with caffeine in it.)

The acid in tea stops your stomach from absorbing iron. Teas also contain caffeine and water doesnt. So I would have to say no -
Dont replace water with tea......

You can drink a lot of tea however tea can have a diuretic action. This makes you pee a lot and can dehydrate you. Why not drink equal amounts of both?
