It'll take some time and dedication on your part, but getting your toddler to sleep without having you there will do wonders. She'll likely start to sleep through the night if you aren't making it worth her while to wake up. This can be done cold turkey by not responding to her pleas of milk/mommy or slowly lessening the amount of time you are with her when she wakes up. Gradual is usually easier for everyone involved, but we learned it had to be cold-turkey with my daughter. First night was terrible, second not so bad, third night was a peace of cake. A typically night is around 10-11hrs+ for toddlers.

I have 2yo twin boys (born Sept.05) who sleep up to 12 hours maybe more, well 1 does, but my eldest would if he could.
My friend Fi has a 2yo (born Oct. 05) that sleeps 6 hours a night and wakes once.
My sister in-law has a 3yo who sleeps 10 hours a night wake twice.
My twins were under 6 months when I weaned them (they were BIG drinkers). I have read that if you want to stop you should stop offering. If she wants a drink offer her a cup maybe?

My daughter is 21 months old has began to wake several times a night. Some times up to 7 time a night. I've tried letting her cry but don't like her crying. My case is different to yours though, she is in a rhino brace and get uncomfortable easy cos she can't move herself. Last might my partner went in to her and only woke twice. As for her using you as a dummy, if you want her to stop that at night you'll just have to let her cry it out for a few nights. That may be why she is waking, not able to put herself back to sleep and reallies on you to put her back to sleep. It might help if you put her down awake and let her put her self to sleep. Still let her breastfeed but don't let her fall asleep. After she is use to getting herself to sleep on her own then try and not feed her at night. I hope this helps.

She should be sleeping through the night. Stop feeding her at night. When she wakes up, give her a minute to calm down. Don't run in everytime she makes a peep, or you will encourage her to continue to wake up. If she becomes really agitated, go in pat her back and put her back down to bed. Keep doing this and eventually she will sleep all night. It takes work, but it is worth it.

My daughter didn't sleep through the night until she was over two years. I allowed her to wean naturally - she gradually nursed less and less until she was ready to stop altogether (at age 4).
