My pharmacist told me that it isn't yet but "is treated like one" and will eventually become scheduled. Why is this? I know it makes you feel good and takes away pain but damn, what is the FDA trying to do???

It was not classified as a controlled substance when it was introduced because of the low potential for abuse. As more people find that you can get a buzz from it and actually is stronger than vicodin it will become a scheduled drug. Bad withdraw on this one - stay away if possible.

Because it is synthetic codeine. They are trying to keep people from abusing it. I take it everyday twice a day, and it is controlled where I live. The FDA is trying to controll it because it is habit forming.

No, it is not a currently a controlled medication. It is a rather weak pain killer. It works slightly on the narcotic receptor, but it works more with serotonin and norepienphrine levels. This drug is not habit forming, therefore, it is not controlled. It's closest narcotic cousin is immodium.

um, ultram is not a narcotic. I doesn't create a euphoric sensation like codeine. I don't see why they would ever make it a controlled substance....that's like making advil a controlled substance, Once upon a time advil was available only by prescription....
