We are emotional beings as well as physical and intellectual ones. No denying that. We certainly have met people with bulldog mentalities, though.

Mr. Conned_C,
You may be correct too, in saying emotional beliefs, In any religious emotional beliefs are strong.
'Know personally' - you mean what?
You are a person and I am a person, knowing personally is possible.
Knowing Jesus Knowing God, is the question.
Jesus said, "No man knoweth the Son(Jesus), but the Father(God); neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son." Math 11: 27
And knowing God and Jesus is life eternal, said Jesus. Jn.17: 3.
Now decide your self whether they know Jesus and God.

A reflection of mans shortcomings trying to assert themselves forcefully and carried by the worth that is adopted along with it's delusions.
I read the bible and other sources as well to maintain a context of balance and hence learned how the bible can be delusional as well a beneficial.
If you believers want to take (I give you this )poetic license and say Jesus is alive with you then I can take Albert Einstein and others who have saved the world much more and more to come and say they are alive with me .
Science try going to church without the knowledge to build it or the knowledge of communications to speak it or the psychology employed to the congregation without them realizing it for their benefit these things came from science .If emotional fulfillment and intellectual fulfillment are gained from fabled stories realize without the psychology involved this could not exist .So thank science for going under the table in your sermons and granting your needs .

In order to know Him personally, you must repent of your sins
and believe that Jesus Christ is Lord.
How wonderful it would be for you to know Him personally, therefore realizing it is not any emotional belief, it is for real.
Read and study His word, find a Bible base Church and most definitely Prayer, all of this daily.

It's actually a relationship. Jesus came on the earth and lived among us. He's a real person, who's still alive, so a real relationship is really possible.

Well, that's the question isn't it?
I often wonder if what somebody else believes is any of my business. I come on here to explore and expand upon my own belief structure, knowing that it is just as ignorant and incorrect as the rest of them are. That said - it works for me, and that's that matters.

Their talking chit, of course. Gods are imaginary just as the imaginary friends of children.
We can excuse a child's need for a playmate, imaginary or not, but to lend the same courtesy to an adult is obscene. I do not easily tolerate an individual who has so little respect for his own intelligence than to trade it away to religion and accept the dung heap of nonsense he is offered in return. Foolishness...!

the bible says that we can know him personally, but you have to understand that God is spirit and that "personal" way is an indwelling in our spirit. Many knew him personally in the flesh but people either believe or choose not to believe in written accounts of thousands.
