Today I sent a Chrsitmas package to my cousin in Iraq with an APO address. It weighed around 3-4 pounds, and I was not asked to fill out a customs form. Will the package still get to him alright, even though it has no customs form?

It really should have had a customs form. It may get to him, or it may be shipped back to you, or it may be held up and inspected by the customs authorities. Just make sure that from now on you put a customs form on the package.

usually it depends on the country its going to...like when i was in Japan and had an APO address if there wasnt a customs form i didnt get it. but i actually forgot a couple times when my husband was in Iraq and the post office never reminded me (civilian post offices sometimes dont, thats why i always use the one on base) but he got his packages just fine.

Absolutely, APO stands for Army Post Office, the only postage is to NY.NY. for Germany I dont know what the APO address is for Iraq but your package will get through!

The package ships to either San Francisco or New York. SF for Asia, NY for Europe/Africa. The army ships the goods from there, so if they don't ask for customs, don't worry about it. It never leaves the army's hands, so there really is no need anyways.

Yes. An APO is not considered foreign mail, but US mail. The same rates apply as if you were mailing it within the US. Don't worry they have fast accurate service.
