Once done, the Airbus A380, the world's biggest passenger plane, will be a "flying palace" for Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, the manufacturer announced Monday.
Airbus SAS would not give a specific price tag for the VIP double-decker jet, with its football field-length wings, saying only that it would cost more than the aircraft's list price of $320 million.
Subhanallaah. what a waste of wealth and resources. While muslim children are dying of malnutrition in many parts of the world.
what do you guys think?

Umar Ibn AL-khattab,
From `Ubayd Allah ibn `Umar ibn Hafs: `Umar was see carrying a slaughtered animal on his back. He was asked why, and he replied: "I was infatuated with myself and wanted to humble myself." Al-Hasan narrated: "`Umar gave a sermon when he was Caliph wearing a waist-wrap patched in twelve places."
The Prophet said: "The most compassionate of my Community towards my Community is Abu Bakr; the staunchest in Allah’s Religion is `Umar; and the most truthful in his modesty is `Uthman." The pebbles were heard by Abu Dharr glorifying Allah in the hands of the Prophet, Abu Bakr, `Umar, and `Uthman. The Prophet particularly praised `Uthman for his modesty and said: "Shall I not feel bashful before a man when even the angels feel bashful before him?"
He was humble and was seen at the time of his caliphate sleeping alone in the mosque, wrapped in a blanket with no one around him,

As salaamu 'alaikym, my friend.
Insha'Allah, yes, when so many are hungry (many many literally starving to death), homeless, in need of medical care, unjustly imprisoned and persecuted, disposessed by war and natural disasters, lacking in education and so desparately in need of the very necessities of this life, many of whom are Muslim and someone can personally justify spending over $320 million on a "floating palace" is , literally SINFUL!
Insha'Allah, I am a convert to Islam and not a learned person in anyway, however, from what I have read of the lived example of the Prophet Muhammad (sallah 'alaih wasallaam) and of his companions (radi Allah anhum) during the establishment of the first ummah, and from what I have been blessed to understand from my reading of the Holy Qur'an, using one's blessing (all such come from Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala) in such an egotistical manner is not within the keeping of the correct following and practice of Islam.
Insha'Allah, how would one, knowing the realities in the world as they are today, face Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, on the Day of Judgment after having done such? Will Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, have such a person stand for all etenrity and view all of those whom he might have assisted by and with that which he had been blessed with but did not? Insha'Allah, what a weight to carry for eternity! Alhumdulillah!
Sadly, so many who have been so fortunate as to have been raised from birth in the beauty of Islam seem to have forgotten the teachings and correct practices of their faith and so seemingly abuse the very blessing Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, has given them in this life.
Insha'Allah, it took me more than fifty three years to be truly guided by Allah, subhanna wa Ta'ala, to Islam and may I never forget or abuse that which I have received! Amin.
Remember , too, here in this post, we are only considering the cost of his purchasing this aricraft. There will also be the cost of maintaining it, fueling it, flying it, storing it, etc. How many more millions of dollars will be spent on such?
When I consider that this man grew up in Saudi Arabia, as a Muslim, in the very land where the Prophet Muahmmad (sallahu 'alaihi wasalaam) lived, received the Holy Qur'an and called all the world to Islam, where one finds Mecca and Medina, etc., I weap at his loss (i.e., the loss of his faith).
However, despite such excesses, despite such examples to the world of what they will think it means to be a Muslim and practice Islam, I submit to the Will of Allah (swt) and know that He has a purpose in everything that He Wills to occur. Alhumdulillah! Allah Akbar!
May Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, guide all those who sincerely seek Him and who sincerely submit to His Will on the straight path that is Islam and may we not die except in a state of full submission to His Will that is Islam! Amin.
Ma'a salaam.

Salaam Alaykum,
These are not Muslims. They are hypocrites of the worst kind. Money, greed, and wealth is there god....while their brothers and sisters are dying they sit back and do nothing but spend 30,000 a night on call girls, gambling, and paving their own road to hell..they make my stomach sick because so much could be done for the Ummah instead of these lavish ostentatious displays of wealth. King Fahd purchased 5 Billion dollars of weapons from the USA..to end up in the hands of killers. His nephew is the thirteenth richest man in the world at 23 billion dollars. It is tragic they live in the land of the prophet PBUH and our Mecca...They hire slave laborers from poor countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh and provide them jobs and deplorable living conditions. If anyone complains he is beaten and loses his job. Modern day slavery. It is sick.A friend of mine went to UAE and ordered from the concierge of the hotel two prostitutes..I would rather say former friend and two Russian women came up to the hotel room. Dubai has an ice skating rink in the desert, a seven star hotel for mostly European tourists complete with a waterslide. pools, saunas, and 2,000 dollars a night.
I can't stand them they are rude and arrogant too!
WaSalaam

I do agree with you but I am not to judge anyone here . If we compare the hearts greed, most of us will come same in the balance of relativety. A millioner wish to spend hundred thousands for his luxury and here Talal is a multi billionair whose wealth increases every second. As long as he pays his Zakath and don't use his wealth against Deen (Let's blieve he fulfills his duties in this) and so we cannot judge him. May Allah guide all of us and forgive the shortcomings of this Umma.
It is true that we all must practice Zuhd in our heart for this world. A Muslim lives for the eternal world ahead and greater for him is what is with Allah in the hereafter. It depends on one's faith howmuch he practices this. Sayyiduna Umar (R.A) or Abubaker (R.A) were in those status of faith. That's why our loves goes to them. We praise them and they are remembered for their piety and humbleness. If all the faith of this Umma is totalled together, it wouldn't equal the Iman of Sayyiduna Abubaker (R.A).
So, anyway anything beyong one's need is extravagence. Whether it be for Prince or the pauper. We all must learn to live with minimum and look & care for other's needs. Allah loves such people who spend on His way and not those who exceeds the limits. Those who take this life for play and amusement.
Honestly saying. The current ruler King Abdullah is loved by everyone. He is doing great good things for the humanity while the princess are enjoying.

King Abdullah is doing a lot to improve his economy in Saudi Arabia. He is trying to build more factories so the men have jobs, and is providing free medical and free hospital stays and free education. It's the Princes of Saudi Arabia that are the ones squandering their money away on petty things. King Abudllah is one of the best Kings that actually cares about the people in his country Alhamdullilah unlike his father and the people before him. There are very few men like King Abdullah who would give 10million dollars to the poor in Sudan or Somalia. King Abdullah is doing everything in his power to make his country safe for the citizens and for the foreign workers. Once King Abdullah dies then who knows what the country will be like. It's very rare for the Saudi Arabia royal family to produce a child like King Abdullah who actually cares for the good of his country and for the poor people of the world not just the poor Muslim people. What makes the Muslim children so special that you would deny food and resources to the non Muslim poor of Africa and Asia? The last few hundred kings didn't care about Saudi Arabia and if King Abdullah's brother becomes ruler of Saudi Arabia in the event of King Abdullah's death then he will probably destroy everything that King Abdullah has built and the country will be worse off then it was when King Abdullah came to the throne.

If the money was his and he has paid his Zakat, then it is not for any Muslim to judge him...this being said he did not earn the money legally, he has banks which have interest, he has interest in illegal activities etc...
He is a theif that money is not his, he took this money unlawfully from the Saudi people....DO you think Allah(SWT) will accept his Zakat?
Alexandria, you converted to islam recently and now you know who is a muslim or not? this is a joke. Same could be said for you.
