I had this topic debated in my philosophy class and I just wondered what people thought.

Well, if your gonna have sex, you better be ready for a commitment, cause for myself personally, I don't just go have sex with any guy out there, I have to know him and feel something before I do that.

There is a certain level of intimacy that you can't get without commitment. No sex does not need to involve commitment. There is always friends with benefits. That is always nice.

To be honest, sex doesn't have to involve commitment. You have one night stands, friends with benefits and of course sex with commitment.

One night stands are your typical "i'm horny and you're horny lets have sex and never see one another again". It's pretty much a chance to have sex with a hot person and experience it.

Friends with benefits are you're typical "you please me the way I want to be pleased, but i would never consider you for a serious relationship". That's just sex that satisfies you're sexual urges and tendencies. One person can make them come true, but you don't love him or her enough to commit.

Hope I helped you.

Actually no, there are plenty of people who are just sex buddies or "friends with benefits". You can have sex without being committed to one another.

Your question is "MUST" it involve commitment. The answer is an easy NO. The real question is: Is it prefered?

not exactly but it makes everything more fun. if you dont love the person you might feel...uncomfortable with them but if you love them than you must have had some time to get to know the person very personally and you would feel more comfortable trying "new" things. :)

Must it? No. It happens all the time without it. Should it? I think so.
