For example, That Darn Cat, The Apple Dumpling Gang, Now You See Him Now You Don't, etc? I loved those as a kid even though many of them were older than I was back then. Why don't they make movies like that anymore instead of the mediocre mix they have now?

Even the modern remakes of them are terrible in comparison.

Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the only good things they've come up with in recent times.

I agree with Bakalava man--times have changed. Somewhere along the line (not sure as to the exact date) America lost her innocence. Look at all the S**T on tv today--what every happened to the family hour? Studios mkae the movies people pay for--profit being the bottom line of anything anymore. Very very sad.

Same reason why Nickelodeon doesn't have the same type of good shows anymore like Keanan and Kel, Hey Arnold, My Brother and Me...times are changing

They don't because the kids today want to get naked on television, and don't have the sensitivity to watch Disney, unless Hannah or Lindsey are not wearing clothes!

Times have changed! Too bad, too sad.

they want to "appeal" to the general public...times have changed...it's sad, although they have officially said that Direct-to-DVD sequels and prequels and Sh*t arent gonna be made by them any more....THANK GOD!!!!! i couldn't stand to watch them butcher Disney Classics anymore!!! it's about time too...what's next? The Origin of the 7 Dwarfs??? C'mon GIVE ME A BREAK!!!! although Lion King 1 1/2 wasnt that bad

please don't insult the wonderful Disney company. They gave us Pirates of the Caribbean, and for that I will love them always.
But it's probably different now because Walt himself is gone. He came up with wonderful movies. You know he was best friends with the man who accidentally discovered LSD, right? That might explain some things about his earlier movies...hehehe....

Times have changed. I completely agree with you though.
I miss watching those kind of movies when I was a kid.

Cause they ran out of good ideas. And somewhere along the way they thought it was a good idea to make sequels to EVERYTHING.
