Money or a calling card so that when you realize it's not worth it, you can call your mom to come get you.

Hi Nikki, You didn't say how old you are and if your friend is a male or female!!! You will need more money than you have and a car. Pack Lot's of food and water and maybe some juices and soda but pack more water. You need your tooth brush and tooth paste and the list go's on. I don't no want has may you want to run away but this isn't the way to do it. If you are under 18 you will be found and be put in junville hall and you don't want to start having things put on your record. Can you talk to an adult you can trust? If so do that and take their advice and stick with what they have to says and tell you want to do. I just wish I knew why your running away. A Friend Who Cares.

Don't be an ***. Isnt it good to have a computer to ask this question? Isnt it good to have food and a warm place to eat it? Obey the law, obey your parents if they are lawful. if not find help at school or law enforcement. then enjoy your warm, food available home, swallow your teenage angst and get educated. Then you can live a life of happiness and fullness, more than likely realizing what an *** you were to want to run away from your loving family. Or, if you have to run away, go straight to the police station. They will take care of you and deal with those abusive *****! Either way, going out on your own is a recipe for a lifetime of regrets.

I am sure you are pissed and have alot of things making you feel like running away is a good answer, but instead of trying to figure out what you should take with you when you leave try to think of some good reasons to stay and changes you could try to make to feel better about where you are living now. Talk to some people you look up to about the things bothering you, everything heals with time. Running away from our problems does not make them go away. If you are still in school talk to a teacher you like and trust, if your not in school get ahold of an old teacher. Talk about the things bothering you, and trust that everything will get better. After all, its way to cold out there like you said! Stay strong Nikki, you are smart and you have knowledge inside that will lead you to the right decisions.

I hope you're not serious about running away. Even if you are going on an overnight somewhere, you'll need more than the clothes on your back. Suitcases are heavy to carry when you are "running" and you may not get it all in your backpack, but here's my list of what to take and why.

1.Deodorant--obvious reasons,
2.toothbrush and toothpaste--more obvious reasons
3.comb and hairspray, mousse, shampoo, rinse, forget the hairdryer--you'll probably be sleeping outside, so no electricity to run a hair dryer or curling iron. At least you can keep your hair combed and clean.
4.Change of undewrwear-obvious reasons
5.Warm sox, at least 3 pair
6. sturdy walking shoes--waterproof, you'll be out in all kinds of weather
7.Raingear--obvious reasons
8.extra jeans, newish--warmer than old ratty ones
9.extra sweatshirt, hoddies are the best-keep your head warm when you are sleeping out with the streetpeople.
10.long underwear, shirt and pants, "CuddleDuds" brand is nicest--keeps you warm on cold days and nights when you become one of the street people.
11.bedroll/sleeping bag--obvious reasons
12.large piece of plastic--put under sleeping bag, keeps dampness out.
13. 1 or 2 person tent--obvious reasons.
14.ID card--cops will stop you for questioning, you probably are underage, and parents will have reported you missing. 15.Also, if you run out of funds, you may need to get a job washing dishes or bussing tables for food, so you may need a work permit.
16.Warm winter jacket, mittens, and scarf--it's cold outside, remember?
17.Money--obvious reasons.

Now, do you still want to run away in the winter? Wait til summer when you don't need as may clothes.

I'd say your brain but you obviously don't know where it is right now--kinda hard to pack it. You don't say your age but I'm assuming you are very young. If you are having major probs at home or wherever, seek help from whatever agency applies to the situation. That is what they are there for. Ten times out of ten, people who run away from a problem end up in deeper sh*t than when they started from. SOLVE your problems rather than run away from them.

YOU NEED A SPANKIN, why would you even consider running away. One thing my dad always told me before he died, was that running away never solved anything. So unless it is a life or death reason, you need to work out why you think you need to run away. If your friend is of the opposite sex, well that isnt a good enough reason. LEARN TO DEAL WITH YOUR PROBLEMS AND DONT RUN AWAY FROM THEM!

that sounds like a great idea! Why don't you go rob a liquor store while you're at it..or perhaps you can shoot up. Why would you run away? Things can't be that horrible...you will end up on the street and unhappy..guaranteed. Have a good trip!
