Last week in my math class I went to get help from a friend in class and went to get a chair so I could sit by her desk and my teacher told me to go back to my seat and ask HIM for help, I went to her desk grabbed my books(since I had already put them there) and went back to my seat and before I left her desk we exchanged a look (one of sympathy for me, since the teacher likes to take his anger out on me) and I pretended to jab myself with a pencil ( jokingly, a habit I have picked up from a friend who works at a radio station and pretends the stab the microphone when a caller annoys him) and the teacher wrote me up for disturbing the class and making rude and vulgar gestures AT HIM. The class was talking and working on their work together and they were not affected by me getting up.

Now I have to serve a 2hr detention with one hour of that cleaning the school, how right is that? Especially since half the stuff he said is false.

I'm not really helping here, but you'll be out of high school soon, and there's nothing you can do about jerk teachers (yes, I remember them). I would say that dwelling on this is giving the teacher more power over you.

As an older woman (46), with life experience, I would say serve the detention and keep your mouth shut. The teacher has all the power (including deciding your grade). Some things are just not worth the fight. This one of them. From now on, don't do anything that might upset this teacher. It's a shame, but life is unfair and there are vindictive people with power everywhere...it's just a part of life we have to deal with.

Now the war in Iraq (and such similar things) is something worth fighting the powers that be over.

Similar thing happened to me once, just because I forgot to get my name marked down when I served a lunchtime detention over homework, so the teacher thought I was a no-show. So even though I finished all my work, I had to stay back an hour and a half on Friday avo doing pointless crap.
Just grit your teeth and bare it, and take solace in the fact that your teacher will probably die before you.

I have teachers like that, i would just take it, a guy got a fine for picking his ear (they thought it was a phone). Mistakes are made all the time when it comes to this stuff unfortunantly. I have a teacher, gets angry at anything, i threw a rubber (Yes A Rubber!!) like 5cms to someone and had to stand up. Sometimes if they get bored they look for trouble(drama queens) they cant get the drama, they trouble anyone for anything!!.

Ahh. That sucks. And is totally unfair.

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do, unless you bring it up with your guidance councilor or principle [who are likely to side with the teacher]

Sorry, dude. Better luck next time.

Suck it up princess (I know you're a guy but i'm being mean lol). Welcome to the world of control freaks. You're going to see a lot of it and people on power trips and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. It does suckage yes but we have no control over it. That's life.
