what should I write in a thank you card for earrings. I wan tto be polite, but there is not much to say about earrings except that they are beautiful.

You can mention a specific time you will wear them : "I have a party coming up I will attend and these will look wonderful with my outfit". You can say, "Thank you for the earrings. They are so beautiful. I can not wait to wear them and show them off. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and the time it took to pick out this perfect gift for me."

If someone gives you a gift it is proper to acknowledge their thoughtfulness with a note saying thanks, that the earrings are beautiful, they go well with some of your outfits and that you will think of ( her, him, them ) when they are worn.
