Good to see you're doing research.
Well, I think thats quite possible. It could be true.
How I was taught, I dont think thats true. Its a possibility, but I think God really did use creation because in the Bible he stated that He would never lie to us. And if you didnt get that the first time, He promised He would never lie to us.
And if the Bible said God used creation, then its gotta be true,

To go and say EVERYTHING in the Bible is true sounds a little freakish, but as you go along and learn more, you'll find out that it all is true.
Some is made up. I forget what book its in, but there was false accounts recorded that said that Jesus appeared to some people. In reality he didnt, but thats the only part of the Bible to be proven false.

NUMBERS 23:19 God is not a man that he should tell lies,
Neither a son of mankind that he should feel regret.
Has he himself said it and will he not do it,
And has he spoken and will he not carry it out?

HEBREWS 6:18 in order that, through two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to the refuge may have strong encouragement to lay hold on the hope set before us

This is what I've never understood - why can't evolution simply be the mode of creation?

Personally, I think evolution is the birth process on a planetary scale. Gaia reproduces parthenogenically.

Have you ever read some of the more symbolic interpretations of the book of Genesis? The Catholic Church does not deny the validity of science.

For example, read St. Augustine's allegorical interpretation of the first chapter of Genesis. You can find it at this link:

It is lengthy, as it is a chapter in a normal book. But it is beautiful.
