Your in the center of a room. At each end of the room there is a door. There is one guy guarding each of these doors. One guy always tells the truth no matter what. The other always lies no matter what. Behind one door is paradise. Behind the other a man eating lion. You want the door that leads to paradise. You are only allowed to ask one question. What question lets you know for sure what door paradise is behind?

Ask one of the two guards, "What door will/would the other guard tell me to go through?".
So if you ask the truth-telling guard [which is unknown between the two], he will always tell you the other guard would lie and say "...". And so on.
If you don't get it, no suprise. It's kind of confusing.

Funny... just saw the answer to this riddle yestrday evening in an episode of Numb3rs :P therefore, it's easy for me to answer and some here already have answered it correctly.
To make things clear to some who answered it wrong:
There is no indication in front of which door the lying guard stands, so the question "Are you alive?" only tells you if the guy is always telling the truth or always lying. And you don't have any questions left.
The solution to this problem is indeed: Ask one of the guards the question: "If I ask the other guard which door leads to paradise, what will his answer be?"
The lying guard will lie and his answer will indicate the wrong door. The truthful guard will tell the truth and his answer will also indicate the wrong door. Hence, it doesn't matter to whom you ask this question, and you can safely use the other door to enter paradise.

Choose any one door and ask any one of the two : ' Will the other guy say ' yes ' if I ask him if this door opens to paradise?'
If that is the door to heaven:
If you asked this question to the guy who tells the truth, he would say ' no '.
If you asked this question to the guy who tells the lie, his answer would be ' no ' if that is the door to heaven.
If that is the door to man eating lion:
If you asked this question to the guy who tells the truth, he would say ' yes '.
If you asked this question to the guy who tells the lie, his answer would be ' yes '

Ask either what answer would the other give to the question... Which door leads to paradise... then choose the other door.

Ask any of them and the right question would be... "IF I ASK THE OTHER GUARD WHICH DOOR WOULD *NOT LEAD* ME TO PARADISE WHAT WOULD BE HIS ANSWER?"
If you ask this Q to the guard who tells the truth he will answer "my door"
If you ask the guard who does not tell the trurth he will answer "his door"
It would lead you to one conclusion that if any guard aswer the Q not his door he is lying...

Ask them what the other man would say. the liar would point to the wrong door cuz hes lying. the truthful one would point to the wrong door because thats what the liar would say. go to the door that neither one is pointing at <3
