Is it the 1st and the 15th or the 15th and the 30th. I didnt recieve anything on the 1st so I was curious. If it is the 1st and the 15th will I still get paid on the 15th seeing as I didnt get anything on the first? This is confusing lol!

Payday is the first, but it's usually in your account NLT the last day of the preceding month.

This is an interesting question and often misconstrued. There is only one legal payday, that is the 1st of the month. You get paid on the first for the "work" completed the entire month prior. The military has authorized a regular casual pay to occur on the 15th of each month, which explains why you get a Net Pay Advice (NPA) and not a full Leave and Earnings Statement like you do on the 1st. Don't believe me check the DoDFMR, Vol 7A, Chapter 1. DFAS normally releases the EFT to the financial institutions 5 days prior to the 1st or 15th, with instructions that the money not be deposited in the servicemember's account until the actual date due. Many institutions will fail to follow these instruction and make the funds available prior to 0001hrs on the day due.

As for not getting paid on the 1st, if you still do not see it on the 15th you can see the Finance Office and if money is entitled to you can issue you a casual pay. Once a casual pay is input into the system it can take up to 72hours to be deposited to your bank account.

1st and 15th... unless those days land on a holiday or a weekend then you get paid the day before... if you are new to the military? which it sounds like you are, you could have missed the first pay cycle and should receive first check on 15th depending on if everything got into the system on time, if not, then you will definately get the first check on the first of the next month with back pay for the time you didnt get paid this month.

Alright in the army you either get paid like I do (1st of the month and the 15th of the month) or you get a lump pay on the 1st. If the 1st or 15th falls on, for example, a Saturday, you will get paid on Friday (the 14th or 31st). But if it is a regular 'business day' it will be the 1st or the 15th. There are other factors. For instance my bank is located on the East Coast (Philly) but I'm stationed at Fort Lewis, WA which is on the West Coast. Because of this I'll get paid at 9PM on the day prior to payday (b/c 9PM here is Midnite on the East Coast so it's the next day). But short answer is you should be getting paid on the 1st and the 15th unless you opt to get paid in a lump sum on the 1st.

paydays are the 15th and 1st. if the paperwork was submitted after the 20th of the previous month, you missed the cut off to be paid on the first of the next month.

Always on the first of the month, unless the first falls on a weekend or holiday. In that case you get paid the day or 2 before.

the first and the fifteenth. two days... wooo!

(check the 30th, some financial institutions deposit it earlier... if you didn't actually get paid at all for one pay period, go to the finance office and correct it, then you'll get a BIG paycheck to make up for it. I'd check SOON though because you don't want to go two pay periods without any money)
