My house was just sprayed down with this product. It was in an aerosol can. I got it from a Vet's office, they said that it was safe once it dried. But now everything is dry and I'm left with a gross smell. Is it still toxic? Main ingredients:

Linalool
N-Octyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide
Nylar
Pyridine
Permethrin

I read through some of this data, briefly, and many of these chemicals are known carcinogens...

Not good.

However, regarding the smell... sounds like it is the Pyridine.

Hard to know if still toxic, however, I certainly hope you washed your counters and floors and are not letting the dog sleep on anything that was sprayed... or you, either:)

You need to spray your yard and de-flea your house too. New fleas are hatching and growing up all the time, and unless you do it all at once it's an uphill battle. Also, if the cats roam, they could be bringing fleas back with them. Frontline is not an instant flea fix, it does take a few days (or months depending on how bad the flea problem is) to work. Get a flea comb. On each animal comb the fleas off. You can kill the fleas on the comb in a bowl of rubbing alcohol (wipe the comb dry so you don't comb it into the animals' fur). Spray all the carpets and upholstered furniture. Vacuum everything and throw the bags away outside. Spray the yard. In a month when you do frontline again, do the house and yard again. We had a HUGE flea problem. It took 3 months of advantage and doing the yard and house before we saw no fleas. But we have been flea free for almost 10 years now, I only advantage the dogs 4 times a year for the last 5 years, they get combed and checked for fleas every week just to make sure.

Not to you. Where did you get this stuff? If it was from a pet store - beware. Don't use pet store stuff. Permethrin is toxic to cats. Having said that, it's in many of the house sprays I advocate - so long as the animals are kept out of the sprayed rooms until they're dried and aired, it's fine. Many house sprays do smell pretty gross.
