If fast food is so bad for you why do they want to give you more?

I ate a Whopper the other day and I could actually taste the bun.

I believe do to early conditioning we grow to love bad food. Its like learning to enjoy cigarettes.

I think they want to give you more so they can make a greater profit. And since fast food is so notoriously addictive, people want more and bigger sizes.
Also, larger portions and only a bit of increase in price make people believe that they're saving money by buying the large instead of the medium.
And it is true, children who are exposed to fast food at an early age ARE more likely to eat the cheap-and-greasy in adulthood.

Companies want to make money, and people want to pay as little as possible for something quick and okay-tasting. Both sides are supposed to win.

Sure you can smallee size it. On the rare occasions that I eat fast food, I order the kids burger and small fries, and drink water.

I agree completely. Fast food seems to be getting more and more addictive by the minute, especially with all the deals and "advantages" they tell you about when you get it. In 10 years, America looks like it's going to be the world's fattest nation, if it isn't already, due to fast food!
Anyways, good luck with finding an answer that satisfies your curiosity! :)

Because food in America is cheap especially in the fast food industry. They are willing to give you a little extra.to beat the competition.

If you grow up eating fatty foods (like fast food), your body will crave fattier foods.

i havent eaten fast food in about fifteen years (im in my 20's) So i dont remember what it tastes like and never have a desire to eat it.....I find it all revolting. Even the "healthy" fast food places like subway.
People can aquire a taste for real, quality food just like they aquire a taste for cheap, crap.

Perceived value. People see a big thing of French Fries "for only 30 cents more" and they buy it. They don't care what their food does to you, only how much money they make?
