In some of the menu's of the PS3, you have to use the left and right directional buttons and the "X" and "O" buttons aren't used. Also, check and make sure that the controller battery isn't all the way on zero power.

I have not had any problems with my PS3 controller at all. Also, returning the PS3 just because of a little controller problem isn't a very good reason for returning it at all. With so many good PS3 exclusive games coming for the PS3 you would have to be crazy to return it.

If you are using the X and O buttons for their correct use in the menu, and your controller is charged/plugged in, then there is a problem with either your controller, system, or system software. You should take it back and get a replacment.

Um maybe its low on batteries or something or soe other signal might be interfering other than that i dont know if problem persists I would return the controler/ ps3... I just got a ps3 yestrday and im having some problems so it might be controller or might eb the system, if it doesnt fix by charging controller ur best shot would b to return it, no point in letting all that money flush down the toilet if it is a broken ps3
